Our ancestors did it!

In a world full of inequality, injustice, and brutality they conquered and brought us freedom!

Voting wasn’t an option for all us until 1965!
(60 years ago) Now we take it for granted.

Reading & learning was illegal for our great great great great grandparents. Now we take it for granted.

Generations have been forever traumatized and they don’t even know it.

We take the work our ancestors did for granted and it shows. A lot of it was systemic, but we have to be stronger than the system and come together just like our ancestors did before us.

It starts and ends with all of us.

S/O to everyone that brought this shoot to life!

S/O to the Black Panther Party and all of the civil rights activists that inspired us!

(B.P.P.)

The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense (BPP) was founded in October 1966 in Oakland, California by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale. It was a revolutionary organization with an ideology of Black nationalism, socialism, and armed self-defense, particularly against police brutality. The Panthers eventually developed into a Marxist revolutionary group that called for the arming of all African Americans, the exemption of African Americans from the draft and from all sanctions of so-called white America, the release of all African Americans from jail, and the payment of compensation to African Americans for centuries of exploitation by white Americans. At its peak in the late 1960s, Panther membership exceeded 2,000, and the organization operated chapters in several major American cities.

We are the history, not his-story.
