Screen Shots 🫣

When off-ball defenders slide to help or have to show and approach, they block the goalie’s view. Catch and release quickly and you’ve got the advantage.

🔑 Keep your space. Don’t step in and give it away to the defender closing on you.

🔑 Hands extended. Get the head of your stick around the defender.

🔑 Let it fly. It doesn’t need to be perfect. Put it to a pipe away from the goalie’s body and make them save it.

Save it. Practice it. Use it 🤝

Shooters vs Stoppers Clinic, October 24th. Space is limited. Link in bio.

The nicest famous people I’ve met (not in order)-

Sam Howell- He was like a god to me and I was afraid to approach him, but I went with my friend and he asked us how we were doing (two students had just ended their lives, and it was a tough time on campus) and it seemed like he genuinely cared. He also took a photo with me at the PGA Championship in 2025 even though he did not with any other fans that day.

Mack Brown- Like Sam, I caught him when he was walking back from practice and he treated me like he had all the time in the world. There was an older man walking near him who was friends with him and he asked him to take a picture of us instead of just making me do a selfie. Bill Belichick would never

Connor Shellenberger- I saw him walking off after UVA’s 16-15 loss to UNC in April and he noticed my CS1 hat (from his company) right away and approached me. He talked to me for about 45 seconds and took a photo with me. He also came back (when someone told him he had to go) to sign an autograph for me after the NY Atlas game in May in Baltimore. A great guy who seems like he would be a good friend if I got to know him more

McCabe Millon- I saw him at Connor’s NY Atlas game in Baltimore in 2025 and I think he was about to leave, but he stayed and took a photo with me and talked to me for 1-2 minutes about McDonogh, our mutual friend, and UVA’s run to the Final Four the year before. He also took a photo with me after the game vs. UNC this year. Another guy I would love to be friends with

Cormac Ryan- He had just transferred from Notre Dame (where basketball isn’t nearly as big) and seemed genuinely happy that someone was approaching him for a photo. Not my best photo, but we both look so happy

Abbey Forbes- One of the best people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. She played for the UNC women’s tennis team my senior year when I had an internship with them and worked at the camp with me in Summer 2022, and was always so friendly even though she was ranked as high as #2 in the country at one point.

As one mom commented on her final post from UNC, “You were always ranked higher than my girls. So many girls like you didn’t give them the time of day.
