If you’re a swimmer and you’re not doing pause pull-ups…

You’re leaving performance on the table.

Why?

Because swimming isn’t just about pulling harder.

It’s about learning how to create and maintain position under tension.

Pause pull-ups teach athletes to own every inch of the movement.

They build shoulder stability.
Improve body awareness.
Develop pulling strength.
And reinforce the patience and control that great swimmers need in the water.

The best part?

The work you’re doing during long course season isn’t just preparing you for your next race…

It’s laying the foundation for next year’s short course season.

That’s what separates good athletes from great ones.

They understand today’s work creates tomorrow’s performance.

One of my favorite things about coaching swimmers is their willingness to embrace that process.

They listen intentionally.
They ask great questions.
They attack every session with purpose.
And they understand that improvement happens one rep, one stroke, and one practice at a time.

That’s exactly how we built our program.

By swimmers. For swimmers.

Because when you’ve lived the sport, you know what actually transfers to the pool.
