The Fall Art season continues to thrive: Wednesday marked the first edition of the new Chicago Art Fair at the landmark Merchandise Mart! Hilton Contemporary, McCormick Gallery, Richard Norton Gallery, Jerald Melberg Gallery and more are lighting up the 7th floor! New discoveries for me? Brooklyn’s Marloe Gallery and coGalerie, in from Frankfurt. Made a quick dash over to the Spectrum fair to congratulate Greg Bockheim, Director of Wheaton’s Cosley Zoo on his debut! Stop by Booth 1093, also on the 7th Floor to say hello and take in Greg’s cheeky, whimsical animal portraits and beautiful floral paintings—it’s easy to see how Greg’s other career inspires his creativity, and it will make you SMILE! As you plan your ‘art jaunt’ for Friday and Saturday, add the Mart to your itinerary! It ends on Saturday, just in time for the Chicago Marathon on Sunday—collectively, awesome ways to support art, business and philanthropy! YYYEEESSS!!!!! #chicagoartfair #artgalleries #chicagoartscene #supportartists #artfairs

McCormick Gallery is heading to the inaugural Chicago Art Fair. We're proud to announce that McCormick Gallery will exhibit at Chicago Art Fair 2026, October 7–10, at the Merchandise Mart. For over two decades, @mccormickgallery has been a trusted name in Chicago's art world, known for estate representation of overlooked post-war Abstract Expressionists and a contemporary program that has become a fixture of the city's gallery scene. This new fair takes a gallery-first approach, bringing together a select group of galleries for a few days of serious viewing and collecting in the heart of the city's design district. Chicago has always been a city of collectors, and McCormick Gallery is among the galleries shaping its next chapter. See you at the Mart. 📍 Merchandise Mart, Chicago 📅 October 7–10, 2026 Learn more: https://chicagoartfair.com/ #ChicagoArtFair #ChicagoArtFair2026 #CAF #CAF2026 #ChicagoArt #McCormickGallery #TheMart

In Mary Abbott’s larger, more complex abstractions, on both canvas and paper, one is tempted to interrogate the swirls, slashes, and drips for clues, beyond her process, and into her mindset. "Mary Abbott: I Am a Sailor's Daughter" is on view at McCormick Gallery through July 17. *** Image: Mary Lee Abbott (1921-2019), I Am a Sailor’s Daughter, watercolor on paper, 9 x 12 inches.
