POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Dear Future Me,

It’s 2026. The room feels quiet, but I am not empty. I am in transition.
There are days I question everything; my timing, my money decisions, my career steps. I overthink the paths not taken and the ones I’m currently walking. I scroll past curated lives and polished wins, and sometimes I wonder if I’ve missed something… if I started too late… if I chose wrong.

But here’s what I’m beginning to understand:
Nothing is wasted.
Not the slow seasons.
Not the confusing seasons.
Not the invisible seasons.
Every audition that didn’t call back.
Every idea that didn’t sell.
Every moment of doubt.
They are rehearsal.
And I am an artist. I know rehearsal is sacred.

One day, I will walk into rooms not as a visitor, but as a name.
Not as a dreamer, but as a force.
People will know my work even before they know me.
They will feel my presence before I speak.
And when that day comes, it won’t be magic.
It will be the quiet discipline of this season speaking loudly.

I want my parents there.
I want the ones who believed in me to stand close enough to see it happen.
I want to succeed loudly enough that their faith feels rewarded.

But even now, before the applause. I am not behind.
I am building.
The silence isn’t emptiness.
It is foundation.

Future me, when you read this, remind me of one thing:
You were never late.
You were becoming.

And when I return to this letter years from now, let it not be a reminder of suffering,
but evidence of growth.

I will see you.
But more importantly,
I am shaping you.

It’s Story Time…

Before I dive in, go and watch Christmas in Lagos on Prime Video.

Done? Great! Let’s continue.

Back in January 2024, when I was informed I’d be handling the accounting processes for Christmas in Lagos, An Amazon Original movie currently showing on prime video, I had mixed feelings. The scale and budget of the movie were significantly larger than anything I’d worked on before. What really stood out was having to use a dedicated film production accounting software instead of the usual accounting software, Google docs and Microsoft Excel.

Like they say, you learn every day, and this project was a learning experience beyond my imagination. Managing payments for nearly 100 people on a weekly basis during the principal photography stage was no small feat. Huge thanks to my amazing assistants @steph_kels and @amoslarry1960 for their support with reconciliations and endless tasks. Preparing cost reports weekly (yes, I’m still preparing them 😂 😂 ) was incredibly demanding but also rewarding. Honestly, I’d do it all over again.

Special thanks to our incredible founder and CEO at Greoh Studios @jadeosiberu for this amazing opportunity, it’s been an unforgettable experience and a significant learning curve for me. And to the one person who couldn’t go an hour without texting or calling me during principal photography 😂 😂, the one and only @maryannngozi_ our fantastic line producer, you made it all manageable.

To my wonderful colleagues:
