Happy Mothers Day! Today we show some love to one of our Moms in ROCLug. @mcglynnamber is known for her Duplo expertise and had it on display at @brickuniverseofficial this year. Roller coasters, castles, and even a Millennium Falcon for fun. A mom and grandma, we say thank you to Amber and all moms today! #lego #duplo #legoduplo #happymothersday #moments

Some general favorites from @roclugny members at @brickuniverseofficial that nominated for people’s choice award. The Jack rabbit rollercoaster won the award along with best in show. The build done by @jgerzseny replicates the jack rabbit at @seabreeze_park which is the oldest operating coaster in the US (it opened in 1920).
Next is @mcglynnamber with her Duplo masterpiece or should I say masterpieces. She had a full amusement park, a zoo, a castle (pictured) and various Duploized @starwars vehicles.
Next are two beautiful ships by Garret. These have intricate details including interiors. I love the clever firing cannon effect on the one.
Last is the @roclugny mural this year which celebrates the Rochester @rocredwings
This picture was how it looked after I did my shift of helping out. The last of the sections were already in progress at this point. The club was also selling a kit of brickheadz version of the mascot designed by club’s Brickheadz expert @cameronstudios_ and as modeled by @mcglynnamber in the Duplo picture we had baseball shirts in style of @rocredwings

The builds from Monday’s @roclugny meeting. Monthly challenge theme was holiday mishap.
Third place was @benthebrickbuilder with his skier caught in a giant snowball.
Second was Jon with highway disaster. Not sure whether the truck broke down and they trying to pick things up but to me it was funnier to think of it as Santa and elves made it go off the road and are hijacking the goodies🤣
First place was @mcglynnamber with her Griswald’s toasted tree.
Another favorite of mine was @jeffedsall8 and his build showing the events of Batman jingle bells.
After the monthly challenge builds are general display pics of my wife @flxbrickchick_ winter garden, my hammock, @mcglynnamber Duplo Star Wars, @dave_zambito crypt battle and @judymt14 Elsa’s pirate ship

@roclugny haunted themed monthly challenge builds. Winner was Michael with his hairy spider. Then @bleullama ‘s son Jasper’s awesome pumpkin patch with great pumpkin made from a Lego tire. And third was Derek’s yellow monster. I am pretty sure @mcglynnamber just missed top 3 with her big Duplo flower art piece. Lots of really good competition but still bummed my graveyard didn’t place. Well now to prepare for next month.

Another @roclugny meeting in the books. Monthly challenge theme was robot. I made three robots working on assembly line building yellow castles. First place went to the Duplo robot built by @mcglynnamber and it was even built on Duplo train chassis and could be controlled by the app. Second place went to Charles with his olive green mech robot. Third place went to the robot refrigerator built by the talented son of @bricksroc owner Kendall.
Lots of other cool builds including @benthebrickbuilder @bleullama and @judymt14

Had a great time at @ecdgeneva for our first monthly @cny_bricks / @roclugny Lego night. We hung out, built some Lego, ate some cookies and donuts, and drank some coffee😁 I had the delicious pb and chocolate donut that my friend Jesse made and had a Bonita’s revenge to drink. Legowise, I repaired my weird turkey chicken bird that got damaged after the @syracusemakerfaire before starting to build the King Boo’s haunted mansion set I got recently as monthly challenge prize with the LUG ( I got first 6 bags built). @mcglynnamber built Jane Goodall and Amelia Earhart sets. My wife @flxbrickchick_ built a few brickheadz sets. The spaceship was built by a young man who was there with his parents to find out what the event was like. He built the spaceship using just the part there at ECD (it was still there when we left if you want to check it out😁).
Can’t wait for next month. Come check it out every second Wednesday.

Rochester LEGO User Group

This group of people right here is pretty special. The way everyone collaborates and works together to not only build insanely creative projects, but also pushes each other to go a step further with their builds is truly incredible. I feel so very lucky to be apart of such an amazing group of people!
