Late Entry:
12/10/25
1306 Hours:
•
Posted materials for the Veteran Coat Drive and Cards for Vets initiative were located:
•
These small, deliberate actions strengthened support for veterans on campus and throughout the Merrimack community. Not only was Cold-weather gear collected, but students faculty and staff all came together to support these causes. Holiday Messages of appreciation were also delivered. These were mission focused and community driven.
•
This mission was not executed alone. We extend our sincere appreciation to the @merrimackcollege community for their continued donations and support, to the @mchonors program and of course @merrimacksga for helping initiate this effort for the first time last year.
•
Supporting veterans is not seasonal; it is sustained commitment.
•
Warriors for Warriors continues to stand the watch.
•
Stay tuned for further late entries from this year’s Warriors for Warriors initiatives. 🇺🇸

We fell behind on posting photos from this winter, and instead of leaving the log incomplete, we’re making the entry now. Over the next few weeks, you’ll get to see firsthand how US Military “delayed entries” are done as we catch the Merrimack community up to date. Because accountability and tradition never go out of style.
•
Military History: The Duty Log Book traces back to Naval tradition, where ships recorded every watch, movement, and significant event in official deck logs. Another common term is “firewatch”; or someone stationed at every ship lantern to ensure the ship and other assets don’t catch fire, and are signaling correctly at night.
•
The Marine Corps carried this forward ashore, documenting key control, accountability, and incidents as a permanent government record. Every entry mattered. Every watch inherited the last.
•
When something was missed, a “delayed entry” kept the record complete.
•
So this will be treated as our duty log book! Swipe left to see an actual U.S.M.C. Delayed Entry submitted to the U.S. National archives, as all logbooks are mandated to be saved here, regardless of their location or contents.
