QATAR ISN’T JUST TALKING ABOUT AI ANYMORE — IT’S PUTTING IT TO WORK.

Qatar is taking another step from AI ambition to real-world application.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Qatar University and Scale AI are developing the National Co-Advisor Platform — an AI-powered academic advising system designed to support students and transform how universities use data.

The platform will combine a 24/7 AI assistant with advanced analytics, helping identify students who may need additional support, streamline administrative processes and provide better data for academic decision-making.

But the bigger story goes beyond education.

Qatar has been investing heavily in AI infrastructure, sovereign technology and digital capabilities. Now we’re beginning to see what comes next:

Building practical AI applications on top of that infrastructure.

Could Qatar’s government institutions and universities become the testing ground for the next generation of homegrown AI solutions?

That could create opportunities not only for technology companies, but also for startups, entrepreneurs, researchers and investors across Qatar’s growing digital economy.

A national food strategy needs comparable farm data.

One farm can improve with better data.
A sector becomes easier to understand when that data can be compared.
Agricultural operations often generate information in different controllers, spreadsheets, files and reporting formats. That works locally, but it makes a broader view harder to build.
A more consistent data layer creates a common operating language: climate, irrigation, crop conditions, work, lots and traceability.
GROWA is building that layer from the farm upward.
The immediate value is operational. The longer-term value is clearer agricultural intelligence built from real production conditions in Qatar.

That is useful infrastructure for a country serious about strengthening domestic food production.
