Unfortunately the dream came to an end Saturday night. I got to play the game I love one last time. It’s tough to put into words what basketball did for me. It wasn’t that long ago that I was dealing with depression and anxiety and felt like I had no purpose. It wasn’t until I got back into basketball that these issues started to go away. This season saved me, basketball saved me, and I will be forever grateful to it.

To my teammates, thank you for welcoming me in and pushing me to my limits. I know the season didn’t go how we wanted, but the memories we shared and lessons we learned will last a lifetime.

Finally to my parents, thank you for allowing me to play the sport I’ve loved since I was a kid. So many sacrifices were made so that I could chase my dream. I’ll never be able to repay what you guys have done for me.

I love you basketball, thanks for everything.
