Milly’s been throwing an immersive party themed ‘The Past’ in her family’s Viking ‘Hayhouse’ outhouse 🥳🪩🏰 This included an opening ceremony, themed games, best-dressed prizes for ‘Ye Most Splendidly Arrayed’ character 🤡🏆, a medieval food cart @raviolliefoodstall transformed into ‘The Rusty Flagon’ and served by cross-dressed busty bar wenches 🍝🏰, a full DJ pal line-up featuring a custom Hayhouse party song by @__.__rebekah and @ginge_______ 💃🔊 AND hand-painted medieval signs saying ‘Prepare Thyself for Merriment’ and encouraging audience participation with ‘Hiss’ 🪧🐍 and ‘Honk’ 🪧🪿, inspired by my brother, @max_simpson_ ‘s friend group, nicknamed ‘The House of The Silly Goose’ 🪿

The opening ceremony warmed the crowd with my Dadeo’s mandolin 🪕 cover of SKÁLD’s ‘GRÓTTI’, a Viking throat-singing song, alongside Max’s drumming 🥁🎶 before I asked guests who HAD been to a Hayhouse party before to howl like a wolf 🐺🤪 and those who HADN’T to growl like a bear 🐻👻

We used Viking runes 🎲 to find ‘the ONE’ to be ‘sacrificed’ to bless the land through ‘stoning them to death’ 🙏🌄🔫💀 Then, with the medieval jester @amy_steadman_ selected and in shackles, all guests were then invited to grab a toy or teddy 🧸 and march her down to the Viking Pig Bothé 🐷, chanting ‘shame’ until she was ‘sacrificed’ in a dramatic fashion 🎭

For the main game, ‘Ye Simpson Olympics of (and for) the Ages’, Max and I summoned our guests with five minutes to get into a historically accurate timeline of their characters 🐉🧝🏻‍♀️👩🏼‍🌾🧙🏼‍♀️ We then split the players into four teams to compete in five quests to take them through time 🕰️ and attempt to win the grand prize 🐉🥁🏆🌚🌝

For breakout games, we set up archery 🏹 and a log and nails for a round of medieval-style hammerschlagen 🪵🔨 before celebrating our TOIL by getting down on the D floor 🫜💽🔊💃🪩

Watch this space 👽👾🛸 (hint hint) for more to come!!!
