⭕️ A circle, a ritual, an offering….both held and confronted by feminine strength. With no beginning and no end. It is unity, continuity, protection and belonging- a gathering place, a ritual space, a reminder that we are all part of something larger than ourselves.

Sexy (& Spicy🌶️) Lil Medicine - ❤️‍🔥FIRE CIDER❤️‍🔥

We love the transition into fall, & it’s important to remember this is a time you need to offer your body a lil more TLC. As we harvest the fruits of our summer labor & ground down for the season, bolstering your immune system with the incoming seasonal shift is crucial.

This is a beautiful time to introduce tonics - which are infusions & medicine with herbs that are safe to consume daily and over time (vs for acute conditions, where you take a lot of medicine as a rescue remedy). Herbs are beautiful as daily care & preventative medicine!

In the case of fire cider, we are working with an oxymel - a vinegar you’ll infuse with aromatic, pungent, herbs + 🍯to help the medicine go down - literally, this is our catalyst to help the medicine move through your system!🌀Ginger & turmeric work beautifully here + horseradish in the classic recipe🫚🐴🫜

We also want to incorporate nature’s best anti-virals, garlic & onion, & something spicy, like cayenne or jalepeño.

And then you can get fun with it - add in some herbs/fruits that speak to you!🍊🍋🍓🌺My friend @mclementi introduced me to adding hibiscus, which is my favorite! I worked with some other seasonal things I had on hand.

FIRE CIDER RECIPE (in a mason jar) - the classic elements:
½ cup fresh grated horseradish root (I subbed radishes here)
½ cup chopped onion
¼ cup chopped garlic
¼ cup grated ginger
Chopped fresh or dried cayenne pepper (to taste)
Raw, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
Raw honey (to taste, added after straining)

+ My lil twist based on what I had on hand!
1.5 lemons
A handful of strawberries
Rosehips for exxxtra vitamin C + joy
Star Anise
Rosemary
Thyme
Hibiscus

After layering everything into your jar, add to the top with Apple Cider Vinegar (with the MOTHER), making sure you cover your additions fully to prevent molding. Shake daily for 4 weeks to better infuse (I store her in my cupboard by my supplements so I don’t forget, but she’ll turn out just fine if you do), strain, swirl in your honey to taste, & you’ve just made some delicious medicine!
