turned 23 on k’gari 🌞🎂

wonderful company, pin the strawberry sunglasses on the freya, birthday worms, a very slow but trusty car four, icing food fights, kangaroo rats, dingo sticks, sand dunes, swimming holes, shark infested waters, driving on sand, portaloos, lots of sandwiches, and a well-acquired seahorse float

LOOKUP for adventures. I was just doing some work on the computer when I saw Lauren at the hostel, not on her phone. So of course, I had to say hello.

Traveling from Scotland, she offered to join my table, and that began a 4-hour hang out that was so much fun! After a great chat at the hostel, we decided to hit the town for a drink. Although I’m not currently drinking alcohol, we still went out and had fun. We even did some freestyle rap on the streets, as Lauren is quite good at this! So fun!

The evening was full of laughter and went far later than I’d planned, and I’m really grateful for this encounter.

Sometimes we only need to LOOKUP to see who else would be open to a conversation. Although I wasn’t planning or trying to meet anyone that night, it was like nourishment for my soul to have met Lauren.

In my Talk2MorePeople book (link in bio) this stands for:

L - Listen
O - Overcome Interanal Obstacles
O - Open a Dialogue: 6 Strategies
K - Keep (the Conversation) Going
U - Uncomfortable? How to Exit a Conversation
P - Play and Improvise

Do you think you could start a conversation with someone at a hostel? I promise you, it would be worth your efforts to try. All you have to do is LOOKUP. Sincere thanks Lauren for all the fun!
