The 2023 Qube Arts Open! I’m so excited to share this exhibition with you all, it’s my first time curating the Open and I’m not going to lie, it was daunting!

We had over eighty entries from fifty different artists, which were all looked at by our first set of judges who selected the work for the exhibition, getting it down to fifty-seven pieces.

The second set of judges came in last week (before the artist’s name labels went up) and have chosen their winners, four Highly Commended and one overall winner. We’ll be revealing the winners at the open evening on Wednesday.

Please do pop in and visit the exhibition, it’s been months in the planning and we really are so proud! #qube #qubearts #qubeoswestry #oswestry #open #artopen #openartexhibition #exhibition #art #artists #competition #openartcompetition #artwork #painting #sculpture #glass #ceramic #textiles #textileart #photography #collage

Beautiful photographs from Michelle @md.kelsall, one of the staff @qubeoca ☀️

I have been a keen photographer for 6 years and absolutely love taking pictures. That and reading are my time. I’ve had two exhibitions at Qube and entered a few competitions with my photographs and also sold a lot of my work – something I’m very proud of.
The photograph of the beach is at Aberdersach on the Lleyn Peninsula, North Wales. It was my first visit into Wales after lockdown in April and also the first time I’d seen the sea in over a year. The sunset was spectacular and I sat on the beach for over an hour watching it and taking pictures. This was one of my favourites from that evening.
The daisy picture was taken in my garden a few weeks ago. I used a macro lens on it to get very close, and there was a slight breeze which accounts for the blurriness in the picture. Sometimes it works out! #workinprogress #workinprogressoswestry #wip #oswestry #gallery #artgallery #art #exhibition #photography #photographer #sunset #beach #daisy #flower
