Janina Gavankar on her film @thewayback: “I loved the script. I already knew Gavin O'Connor was directing, and Ben Affleck was starring in the film. They had worked together once before, so I was aware that there was a ton of trust there. I could tell with that pairing that they were going to make a movie that was as real as possible. What I love most about Gavin as a director is that he is so subtle. He never chooses the moment that's on "the nose," and he never goes with the obvious choice of a moment. He always wants the understated moment before or after. Gavin makes sure that no one is saying what they mean. Wow! Taking a moment to reflect and appreciate all the opportunities and memories this year has brought me. From being a bridesmaid in two weddings, to working and collaborating with some amazing and wonderful souls, to some of the best times I’ve had with my family and friends. I am extremely grateful.
