“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars” – Oscar Wilde ⭐️ When I was at drama school, this line from Lady Windermere’s Fan 🪭 (1892) really stuck with me. My song Drainpipe is about the massive divide between the rich and the poor, and the chorus definitely nods to that sentiment. 🎧 “Drain Pipe” is available on all streaming platforms- check it out. #newmusic #independentartist #songwriter #OscarWilde

Back on the BBC 🫡 .... The great and powerful @melitadennett showing some more love for the @meakamonroe project this coming Thursday with an EXCLUSIVE playthrough of a brand new tune! . . . This is like how me and the other oldies used to promote music before MySpace was even a thing, where you got radio stations to play your song a month before it's even released. Imagine that in 2025! . . . You won't be able to hear this tune anywhere else for another month unless you're at the @meakamonroe show in Camden on Friday 🤘🖤🫡✨️ . . . BBC Introducing in Sussex & Surrey, 8-10pm Thursdays BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey, BBC Sounds, smart speaker & DAB Listen in Brighton on 95.3 FM Listen in Sussex & Surrey 104-104.8 FM Listen nationally & internationally online at BBC Sounds here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_surrey Text in during the show (you need to start texts with the word ‘surrey’) on 81333 (normal rates apply) with your name for a shout out WhatsApp during the show on 08000 321 333 (start with ‘surrey’) or click here https://bit.ly/311cIYF And feel free to tag me on Threads & Insta at @melitadennett You’ll also find it here for the next month: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p001d7kh There’s also a repeat this Saturday 8-10pm . . . #ukreggae #dubbass #bopskanka #billsbillsbills #bbcintroducing

Some things hit different when they're real. No clicks... No backing tracks... No safety net. Just five humans in a room playing their absolute souls out! . . . @meakamonroe and her band have been locked in for months and it's finally time for her songs to hit the road! . . . Raw, soulful and fully live! Friday 11th July, the tracks we've been working on for the past couple of years come alive for the very first time. . . . If you're in London next week come and see the start of something beautiful! Plus they got the best BBQ ribs this side of Mississippi... No joke!! 😋 . . . #altrnb #livemusiclondon #nobackingtrack #camdentown #rackcityribs #undergroundsoul #MeakaMonroe

Despite ALL the hurdles, another Chriz Gabriel + Friends was woven together beautifully!!! 🌹 When my socials got hacked I thought, i might aswell forget about this event. I mean HOW would I get people down to the venue or let people know!! But this is where it pays to have solid friends and to realise there is still a real world out there 💙. Thank you to @luwalululu + @itstamarajade for the encouragement to keep going with the dream. Thank you to all my features @jahmirspeaks @lukeaskewmusic + @stasipaps for stepping in and to the band who believed in the project putting their all in. The night was such a success!! Oooooff! And we're at it again! Another @meakamonroe track picked up for @bbcintroducing ✨️🙏 . . . Thursday's show is going to feature another of Meaka's singles, this time a song produced by me and my old Porno Breaks partner in crime, @andyjdurrant under our new Dub moniker @stonedapedub . It's the first time in almost 20 years that one of our productions as a dynamic duo will be aired on the BBC. Used to have a lot of our Break Beat on @bbcradio1 back in the day so it's amazing to get in again with the fresh dub styles. Slowly but surely getting the Stoned Ape album finished. Being super anal about the mixes but that's another story! . . . Amazing start to the year. Thank you so much @melitadennett for the support ✌️❤️ . . . Still rookie numbers compared to some of my mastering clients, but I'm very pleased to see the first @meakamonroe single has now reached 100K streams on the old Spotify! 🥳🥳🥳 . . . This is the first production that I've had a hand in writing, recording, and producing to reach this milestone. Thought it was going to take a lot longer to reach this, we've not done a lot of ad campaigns for it, seems to be hitting and rehitting the dreaded algoriddim in waves. . . . Literally fuck all listeners in the UK, which is unsurprising in all honesty (we're all morbid fuckers over here) but plenty of listeners in LA and New York as well as across the United States! Stoked! Especially considering I'm still not happy with the mix, lol. It's perfect, but it'll have to do! . . . Onwards and Upwards. Her third single 'Drain Pipe' is not far behind, nearly 100K on that one too, second single still slowly slugging away but nearly on 50K for that one and hopefully one more cheeky single out before Christmas if we can decide on the right mix to put out (we're down to 3 versions to choos3 from now!) . . . Rock n roll 🤘✨️ . . . #MilestoneMoment #100KStreams #SpotifySuccess #IndieArtist #MusicProducer #SongwritingGoals #FirstOfMany #NYtoLA #UnderratedGems #OnwardsAndUpwards #RockNRollVibes #MusicJourney #IndependentArtist #StreamOnSpotify #MasteringMagic #BehindTheMusic #StudioVibes #CelebrateSuccess #NewMusicAlert #HitThatPlayButton #NotJustUK #ReachingGoals #DreamBig #ProudMoment #CreativeProgress #MusicPassion #MusicAchievers #DigitalWaves #MusicMilestone #FutureHits
