If you know my mom… you know she has always set a table for everybody ❤️

Back when we lived in Sag Harbor, Jerry Lauren (yes, Ralph Lauren’s brother that is) would call my mom and say, “Irma… when are you making that chicken again?” What I jokingly call her ordinary chicken somehow became unforgettable to so many beautiful people who gathered around her table over the years. But nothing my mom does is ordinary. Her gift has always been making people feel loved, welcomed, and at home.

Life has brought highs and lows. Recently, I asked my mom what she wanted for her birthday. She simply said, “I just want my birthday to be celebrated.”

And yesterday… she was ❤️

Not because of the decorations or dinner tables… but because of the people who showed up with love.

Yesterday reminded me not only how beautiful my mom is… but how beautiful the community around her is.

Thank you to our Pennsylvania family… and to old and new friends in Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, Colorado, Maine, Virginia, and the Hamptons… everywhere life has carried us… thank you for loving her and embracing us.

Thank you Carol and Edmond Obeid for being there since the day we arrived in this country. Seeing you seated beside her meant the world to me.

Franco, @rachel_dicarlo and @thepahouse … thank you for turning your restaurant into a home. Bright, warm, elegant, welcoming… just like my mom. And to your incredible staff… thank you for treating us like family.

And Jerry … thank you for helping my mom see that something as simple as feeding people with love could become unforgettable.

Most importantly… thank you to everyone who came to celebrate this queen of my heart.

Happy Birthday, Mama ❤️
Today and always… we celebrate you.

Tu hijo. H
