Lilies of the Valley- Tchaikovsky
When at the end of spring I pick for the last time My favourite flowers- a yearning fills my breast. And to the future I urgently appeal: Let me but once again look upon the lilies of the valley. - Tchaikovsky. “A poem written by Tchaikovsky in December 1878 while he was in Florence.” He wrote to his brother “ I am terribly proud of this poem “. For the first time in my life I have managed to write a fairly good poem, which moreover is deeply heartfelt. I assure you that although it was very difficult , still I worked on it with the same pleasure as I do on music.” @Ghostales1957
I went for a lovely walk on an old country road where I used walk our golden girl, Grace. When we first discovered the road, we found a little dip in the road where the ditch was filled with beautiful fragrant lilies of the valley. The lilies now remind me of those many walks I took with Grace. Like music, art or nature, it will always connect you to the past. #tchaikovsky #liliesofthevalley #Russian #composer #writer #literature #1878 #witchesofinstagram #art #nature#spring #poem #poetry #quotes #lines #romantic #life #pleasure #latespring #time #music #ghostales1957 #creative #renewal #momentintime #cognitivebehavioraltherapy #innerpeace #spiritualawakening #instagood #mindfulness

Isn’t She Lovely? On either side the river lie. Long fields of barley and of rye. The Lady of Shallot, a recent purchase at my local United Church Sale. I saw her on the first day and thought the painting too big so I decided not to buy her. Then, the following day I returned hoping that maybe she still would be there but remembering her placed on the inside of the church pews she was no longer there and thought her gone only to look over at the church alter and there she was. 🍀lucky☘️
