First ultra finished in quite some time! Had to go all the way to Washington for Orcas Island 50K! It was a tough one for sure but made easier by the travel companions, scenery and general vibe of the PNW. More days chasing waterfalls, visiting breweries and exploring. #irunwithsurf @sdultrarunning @sdultrarunning @orcasisland #trailrunning #getdirty #dirtbagrunners #seattle #ultrarunning #getoutside #chasingwaterfalls #legday @medinv7

Volunteer appreciation post! We may be a week late with the gratitude post, but we are beyond grateful for all of our amazing members and the time you spend volunteering at local races & events. Without you, the San Diego running community wouldn’t be the same and you’ve all made the past year incredibly memorable, so… THANK YOU! #sdultrarunning #irunwithsurf

Wow! What an amazing, extremely beautiful and a beast of a real mountain race! I am beyond grateful to have a strong enough mind and body to do this sport! My first time being over 9,000 feet! Summit was over 11,000 feet! I just got used to not being able to breathing. It was ok to be uncomfortable. It reminds me I am lucky to be here and I get to choose to do this! So grateful! Thank you @hayhay_the_runner for crewing. I’m so sorry you couldn’t run this year. 😞 Next year?! I will forever have these mountain images in my head. ⛰️ 🏃🏻‍♀️

The many faces of the 2022 San Diego Heat Wave (AKA: The NeverEnding Story, Part IV) — In general, San Diegans don’t have much to complain about in terms of weather, but the recent (seemingly endless) heat wave has tested some of our limits. Huge kudos to everyone that still logged miles despite the temperature — either by getting up early, strategically running late or by embracing a little extra heat training!! You’re all amazing. Reminder, of course, to always follow local health and park guidelines; to hydrate properly and run with a buddy when possible! #sdultrarunning #irunwithsurf

It takes a village — Races like @san_diego_100 would be impossible without the tireless efforts of volunteers like these. Let’s take a moment to thank everyone in our community who has taken time to help keep runners safe, fueled and motivated out on our local courses - we appreciate you so much! #sdultrarunning #irunwithsurf #sd100 #volunteerappreciation #ultrarunningcommunity

Congrats to some of our runners who finished the PCT50 miler on Saturday. It was a hot day to be out on the mostly exposed PCT. They rocked it! @medinv7 @dominic.rossi @batchruns #pct50 #sandiegoultrarunning #sandiegotrails #ultrarunning #trailrunning #trailsandales #tecoswamppeople

Medal Monday as they say. PCT50 was hot as an oven to say it nicely! But was made possible because of all my friends, volunteers and the significant amount of ice I put in my bra! Thank you to all the volunteers, my crew and pacer for all the help! @sarah_ramirii braved the heat for 22 miles to get me to the finish! @hayhay_the_runner cleaned my feet and iced my head! @killn_mee_smallz gave me kombucha, avocado sandwiches and iced my shirt! Thank you so much! I had way more fun training for this race then actually running the race! See the last few photos of training. I did things a little different this time and my legs felt super the whole time. I still can’t figure out my gut issues which keep slowing me down. Arrrg! Maybe my gut can only handle 50k’s. Mostly thanks to my family for always believing in me! Love you @cisco__man ! 😘

The mountains were clearly calling… So many SURF’ers spent this past weekend on the trails in our local mountains, and with views like these, we can see why. Be sure to tag us in all of your running photos so that we can share the trails with you! #sdultrarunning #irunwithsurf
