Sometimes you sort through your work, and decide a piece deserves another look. Slide to second shot_(as I originally shot it)This space, shot with @sachanizamidesign a few years ago is one that hit home for me because of its eclectic and authentic feel. There was minimal styling done. We just moved a few items around and placed them to work with the composition. What you see is how @medora2014 lived in the space. The design pieces are the stunning mantel and mirror, which integrate so well with its surroundings. So, I came across this as scrolling through work, and thought a more intimate crop would do more justice, or at least add to its voice. What do you think? Which version works for you? Sometimes, like a painting, a photographed moment can still be in progress. #interior #exlecticinteriors #mantel #marble #interiordesign #interiorphotography #interiorstyle #vintage #artistic #rose #fireplace #interiorliving #verandastyle #verandamag #ilovemyjob #architecture

San Francisco. The Tudors Art and Majesty in Renaissance England recently opened at the Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park. Majestic setting overlooking the Headlands. I especially admired and studied the magnificent portraits. Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. And this elegant portrait of Frances Walsingham, Lady Sidney from late 16th c, Renaissance England. It’s attributed to artist Robert Peak. It’s exquisite in detail, technique, precision, and artistry. Chromatic. Frances immortalized. Thank you, curator Martin Chapman. @legionofhonor #tudor #tudorstyle #thetudors And while at the Legion be sure to visit and view the dramatic Canaletto painting recently donated to the Legion by trustee Dede Wilsey, in honor of Ann Getty. The painting formerly held pride of place in the grand professional entry hall of the Getty residence in San Francisco. As shown in Ann Getty Interior Style, Rizzoli Books. @rizzolibooks #finearts #fineartsmuseumsofsanfrancisco #sanfranciscoart

I’ve always wanted to design and fabricate baseboards out of marble. I took a risk in my own powder room and I don’t regret for a second. I love how this turned out and don’t know how I could ever use stock poplar baseboards again! Look out Toronto! #architecture #archilovers #architecturaldetail #elledecor #marble #marblebaseboards #lilacgrey

A coffee table to die for. Her favourite women decorated with books, flowers, china, and a devil-may-care attitude toward patterns.

New SND spring project! This drool-worthy lilac grey marble was selected to complement my clients very special decor. The marble fireplace took many hours to go from concept to completion and attention to every detail is evident. A small project with huge impact. Thank you to @stephanibuchmanphoto for capturing our latest project so perfectly. #fortheloveoflilac #lilacgrey #lilacmarble #lilacinteriors #lilac #sachanizamidesign #fireplacedesign #fireplacedecor #interiordecorating #torontodesigners #torontodecor #torontolife @elledecor @theworldofinteriors
