Wrapping up my Master of Medical Science graduation with this 💕🎓

My big deal 🥼🎓
Growing up, I didn't have big dreams, but somewhere along the journey of life grew an ambitious heart to reach for all that I can.

Cause of Covid, I felt like I hit another wall after my undergrad and I was back again to the uncertainty of where to land myself. Getting a job was beyond challenging and when I was in such a blur, I received an offer for postgrad in the prestigious Universiti Malaya with a scholarship. It was truly unexpected and I can still recall how overjoyed my parents were.

Fast forward, I didn't expect doing my master's degree was going to be more challenging than described. When people say research field in the lab is hard – please believe it 😂 It is definitely not like some random course but it can literally suck the life out of you 🫠

But my God has been amazing beyond words. From the very beginning I got into UM to exiting UM on my graduation day, He has again and again showed me how dear He held me through. I went through so many issues that even resulted in me having anxiety and stress. I often had migraine attacks and bad gastritis that even got me admitted a few times. Yet, everything I went through when I look back, just helped me through to become a better me. God never once let go of me – even though many times I kinda did.

I even had to graduate a year later all because of a faulty machine and redoing my objective, but the timing of everything ended up perfect. I passed my viva with minor corrections and successfully published 2 papers despite everything and none would have happened without God.

I stand tall and proud today with what I have achieved not because of who I am, but because of who God is. I was mocked so much by people who hated me and lies were spread beyond my control – all because I was compared to a certificate of education. I doubted myself countless times. Yet God has never let me go ashamed.

This is my testimony. All praises to Jesus.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
- Joshua 1:9

An edit I looked forward to excitedly when I passed my viva! Graduating from a dream university being the "ivy league" of Malaysia and from a course many dread doing - I made it!

When I walked down that stage holding the scroll, it hit me so much on how absolutely the opposite of easy this whole journey was. Yet God never failed to fulfill the desires of my heart and made me proudly walk tall in the midst of all who hated me and wished the worse to me.

The Iyrics of the song played during our walk out the hall caught my attention:
"Bukan susah untuk susah, no
Bukan senang untuk senang, yeah
Kalau tak cuba manakan belajar
Berkata biar tahu maksud."

To anyone thinking you can't, you actually can! RUN towards it so you'll never regret not trying at the very least. And when the going gets tough and tougher, think back on why you started in the first place!
