Today is an exciting day, because Bozkırkurdu is out now.

This album is a story of a long journey with its hills and slopes. A rock album that probably features the guitar more than anything else I’ve ever made - the instrument that has been by my side for 20 years and has become an extension of my expression. Noisy, troubled, dirty, warm, broken, and far from sterile.

I owe my gratitude to:

Mehmet Denizci, who meticulously wove his soul into every track and breathed life into them.

Berkcan Şimşek, who took the songs somewhere entirely different with the sheer energy of his drumming.

Muaz Ceyhan, who turned a yaylı tanbur part I had reserved for him on “Batan Güneşe” since the very birth of the song - long before he even knew about it - into an absolute goal.

Behiç Çivici, for that bass tone and playing on “Batan Güneşe” we first heard at the concert and immediately knew was exactly this was what this track needed.

Ali Bozkurt, for the wonderful cover artwork.

Jesse Skeens, for the warm mastering.

Bugün heyecanlı bir gün, çünkü Bozkırkurdu çıktı.

Rampaları ve yokuşlarıyla uzun bir yolculuğun hikayesi bu albüm. 20 yıldır bana eşlik eden, ifadem olan gitarı belki de en çok kullandığım bir rock albümü. Gürültülü, sorunlu, kirli, sıcak, bozuk, steril olmayan bir albüm.

Medway’s “My Release” on Hooj Choons is one of the most unique progressive records of the era. Jesse Skeens original mix offered such a distinct sound that I didn’t know what to make of it at first. The huge low- end, the percussion, the haunting vocal. I loved it. Yes, the Lexicon Avenue mix is super-dope too. I picked this copy of “The Fat Bastard EP” at Vinyl Frontier in Orlando, FL with my boy Damian.

Sam Mollison’s vocal sample says:
“my release…just a little makes a lot…my release…letting go of what is wrong, keep on moving to be strong. More space to make a turn in the dark, my release.”
