The golden bride. She surprised us all with an olive oil golden silk gown handmade by her sister. Inspired by scriptures that described the beauty of a bride she boldly walked down the boat dock in the rain, towards the ferry that would take us out on the lake. The evening before she shared concern for her hair, our friend magically whipped up a Gibson girl inspired updo and flowers from her parents garden adorned her head. It was a potluck feast on a boat with an accordion amidst the throws of life, a colliding of worlds and stories all curated by the golden bride. I snuck over to the dock the night before where a big fancy wedding had just ended, I asked the staff what they’d be doing with the left over flowers. They told me to take as many as possible. I drove away with a trunk full of free florals and stuck the white roses and greens into coolers in the backyard. We have them out to guests and scattered them around the boat. Now expectant with twins two years later, this friend lives in the holy abundance of the present moment and belief in the miraculous.

Ceramic water color dishes made by @teaberg_studio as a welcome gift to fellow artists. The boys all left for a long excursion of mushroom foraging and came back muddy with hundreds of morels. The kitchen smelled funky all week at the Airbnb and all left with treasures of tiny fungi amidst the wedding feast week of two unique souls.

Waddling short distances while the twins bunny hop on my bladder, double my appetite, and have tap dance parties while I try to sleep at night : the days feel long and yet the weeks seem to fly by quickly : May will be here before we know it for their big exciting debut 🩵🩵

Once upon a time…
There were two little cups that were made at the same time, in the early autumn, and which took their sweet time developing through different stages of the Creative process. They began as two lumps of fresh wet clay, were weighed out, formed on the potter’s wheel, dried, flipped over and trimmed to give each a personality, dried and given small handles, decorated uniquely with underglaze each one of a kind, dried again, and low fired to bisque ware. These two little cups were then cleaned, glazed in Ocean Blue, and vitrified in the last glaze firing.
They took their time being made as the hands forming them were gradually slowing down in this new season.
The two little cups were ready to be discovered in the new year; brought home and admired, considered, and acknowledged as a unique set.
These two little blue cups were ready at the same time the big news came, a tremendous Creative process unfolding: TWIN BOYS

Mr. Montagino and I are excited to announce our best collaboration, a double portion addition to our family 🩵🩵
The best surprise.
The Montagino boys are expected to make their debut in May. Prayers so appreciated!

And they all lived happily ever after, and everyone slept through the night and had all the rest they could ever want (amen)

{summertime songs}

A summer that has painted my life with vibrance. Five weddings, two family reunions, a birthday bash, a conference, art camp on the coast on Maine, Montana mountain feasts, apricots from home, dependence day and a few extra freckles. Feeling thankful for the perspective and purpose this summer has brought. Thankful for family, old friends and new friends. May the DNA of this sunshine season be remembered in the harvest, cold and spring.

EXTRAVAGANCE

What an extravagant week in Montana celebrating the union of two beautiful souls. @teaberg_studio has become like a sister through years of adventuring together. She shares a zest for life and color. When she surprised us all and shared she found her husband and love struck like a lightning bolt (it’s a VERY good story!), we knew we’d soon be together for a wedding. Three years ago @alyssarodriguez.art , @meesh_ul and I were all bridesmaids to @elainemarge . We all were single and in wild seasons of life. What a joy to see our unique stories of love unfold. It’s been three years of surprises, crossing borders and stepping out in faith. The mountains, lakes and landscape of Montana breathed life back into my soul. Peter played the accordion and we stayed in a grain silo. We received the miracle of hundreds of free flowers from a wedding the night before and Michelle wore a golden dress- golden like the dawn! Félicitations Anthony & Michelle!
