Behind every small business is a person with a passion, a story and a reason they do what they do. To wrap up Small Business Week, we asked Downtown Kamloops business owners and staff what they love about owning or working for a small business.

Know a local business or entrepreneur who makes your day a little brighter? Give them some love in the comments!

We all have that one local business we can’t help but recommend to anyone, so we asked our members to share theirs!

What’s a downtown Kamloops business you love and think more people should discover? Share your favourite in the comments and help others find their next local gem 💎

Everyone has that one downtown spot they just have to show people. We asked our businesses where they’d take someone for their first taste of downtown 🍴

We want to hear from you! Where are you taking someone to eat/drink downtown? Share your go-to spots in the comments!

Sweater weather has entered the chat. Here's to September mornings, a brownie + coffee + croissant combo that hits different, and a whole season of golden waiting just past the patio. 🤎

Most people know Rancho Burro as a wedding venue, but truthfully, we love seeing the space come to life in all kinds of ways. ✨

From team retreats and company celebrations to workshops, seminars, and client events, there’s something special about bringing people together somewhere that doesn’t feel like just another meeting space.

Sometimes a change of scenery is all it takes. Better conversations, fresh ideas, and a chance to step away from the usual routine for a few hours.

If you’re planning an event and looking for something a little different, we’d love to be part of it.

Big celebrations need a space that feels just as special ✨

Our Banquet Hall was designed to be warm, welcoming, and ready for everything from weddings and family celebrations to corporate events and community gatherings. With space for up to 200 guests, soft white drapery, hanging party lights, and all the tables + chairs included, it’s one of those spaces that transforms beautifully for every event.

We wanted it to feel elegant without losing that comfortable, relaxed Rancho Burro atmosphere everyone loves 🤍

Still thinking about this night.✨

We recently received our beautiful photos from @jessbeaudinmedia and they perfectly captured the energy of our International Women’s Day Give to Gain Social—an evening filled with conversation and community.

From Connection Bingo (breaking the ice in the best way), to speed networking that definitely had the room a few octaves higher than normal, to accessible sliding scale headshots (because everyone deserves a photo they feel great about)—this night was to encourage attendees to actively engage with one another by sharing experiences, offering support, and identifying opportunities to contribute to each other’s business journeys.

What we heard from you:

💬 “...I was very anxious but really enjoyed meeting other businesswomen.”

💬 “We have a strong and vibrant community of women entrepreneurs in all different types of business.”

💬“It was great to connect with other businesswomen in the community.”

💬 “Honestly, it was just so much fun...”

And that’s exactly it—creating spaces where women feel welcome, supported, and inspired.

A huge thank you to our event partner @thewebc , to funding from the Government of Canada’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, to our incredible sponsors, community, and to all the women who showed up with openness, energy, and a willingness to connect.

We’re already thinking about how to make the next one even more inclusive (and maybe just a little less loud 😉).

Here’s to continuing to lift each other up—because when we give, we gain.

Some setups just stick with you… and this is one of them 🤍

There’s something special about watching a space transform into someone’s vision. Big ideas come to life, people come together, and every little detail means something.

This is exactly why we do what we do.
To hold space for moments like these and watch them unfold in real time.

We’ll never get over it ✨
