POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

@stanford: Stanford posted a video of a professor telling each of his kids that he'd just won a Nobel Prize. With over 770,000 likes, the video was picked up by Good Morning America and had the most total engagements of any post in higher ed last week. Most schools won’t have a Nobel Prize to announce, but I think the family’s reactions are what made this go so viral. When a professor, a student, or the school itself wins an award, it’s usually announced with a static graphic. Instead, it may be more impactful to film the winners (or your president, for school-wide news) telling the people closest to them.

@universityofvictoria (TikTok): UVic posted a video of an English instructor walking through her course on the Heated Rivalry novels and TV series. One top comment was “Please offer this class online I will enroll into uvic just to take this class.” It made me realize how rarely I see spotlights for professors and their classes on social. I know featuring individual classes can be complicated, since schools may not want to elevate some professors over others. Nevertheless, if it fits your school’s social strategy, it’s great content that gets prospective students excited to enroll.

@pacificstudentlife: Pacific’s student life team posted a video from their annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, where students walk a mile in heels to stand up for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. It had the second highest engagement rate of any post in higher ed. Other schools could consider hosting this established event too. Looking at other schools on social media is usually viewed as a way to garner content ideas; however, it can also be a great inspiration source for student life initiatives.

@morgancommunitycollege: MCC posted a video of Luis, a student starting his welding journey at 62 years old. The comments brought out other welders, from one who wrote “I started at 40!” to a 43-year veteran who joked that he could tell Luis was a beginner. With no talking or big production, it was an easy day-in-the-life format. I think showing an ordinary day of class for an adult learner like Luis may help others picture themselves there.

Commentary on UNG's post below. A graphic titled 'The Reach Report' featuring bold black text on a light background. It highlights '17,683 higher ed posts last week' in pink and states 'These were our favorites' with an arrow pointing right. The design is modern and clean.

We're excited to officially announce the launch of Reach, the first social media platform built specifically for higher education.

When we started MeetYourClass, we believed one thing. Students want to be met on the platforms they already live on, social media.

That belief scaled to millions of students who've found their best friend, their roommate, and even picked their college.

As we grew alongside higher ed teams across the country, we noticed how central social media had become to the college search.

And we saw something else: there wasn't a single tool built specifically for higher ed to actually harness it.

It kept us up at night.

Social teams were expected to enroll students, drive traffic to events, and collaborate across an entire campus, all with tools that were never built for them.

Reach fixes that.

After conversations with hundreds of social teams and studying how they actually work, we built one unified system to:

→ Research what's working across the industry — 10,000+ accounts and 400,000+ posts indexed

→ Source UGC through native forms and run takeovers without ever sharing passwords

→ Publish with a drag-and-drop kanban workflow that feels natural to collaborate in

→ Onboard every student worker with no extra seats required

→ Benchmark your performance against a live dashboard of industry accounts

And we're just getting started.

Because we're higher ed specific, we can actually listen to this community and build for the unique challenges our industry faces.

Our roadmap is stacked: social listening, support for new platforms, and going deeper on the moments that matter most.

Social media touches every part of the college journey. Prospective students, current students, parents, alumni.

We built Reach for all of it.

Check it out at reach.meetyourclass.com!
