Yooo! I dive in Puget Sound, I'm a volunteer steward at the Edmonds Underwater Park, and I take (so so many) crap photos :D

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

No waves. No depth.
Just creativity, patience (obsession!)… and a lot of time in the bath!

(well, us divers needed SOMETHING to keep us from going mad through lockdown!)

A few standout images from our Underbathwater Competition - each one a reminder of how far creativity can stretch...

Oh, the Places You'll Tro.

You're off to Antarctica, you're off and away.

You have brains in your head, and fins for your shoes.

You're a PADI CD, but you're cool with the GUE's.

We wish you the best, we wish we there.

Oh, the places you'll Tro, from Alaska with care.

Love ya buddy!

We love scuba diving and supporting our one of a kind marine preserve, Edmonds Underwater Park! Thanks Bruce and all the divers who volunteer to maintain the trails, moorings and buoys. The prizes were incredible and although windy, didn’t stop these seasoned PNW divers!

Thanks to all who came out to carve underwater pumpkins to support Edmonds Underwater Park!

Congratulations to the winners! Hope you join us next year!!!

I’m so honored that these two amazing women divers chose me to be their mentor and Instructor in their journey to become Divemasters! We are going to learn and grow together. Tro Rex Ota this is your legacy. Thank you for being my mentor and instructor in my journey to become an instructor.

2024 was very good to me in the water. I finally achieved my goal of becoming an instructor, I hit my goal of completing at least 100 dives, I dove with hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos and wobbegong sharks in Raja Ampat.

Along the way, I met and dove with amazing people who I can’t wait to dive with again.

I am especially thankful for my primary dive buddy and husband, Cedric. He is my adventure partner and my rock.

I’m excited to see where 2025 will bring me on my salty underwater journey.

We completed the PADI scuba instructor exam (IE) earlier today! Thanks @megalotro, @gopro.with.annieo, @underwatersportsbellevue, and @underwater_sports for all the support that made it possible!

Congratulations @atina_tan ! We are thrilled to have you as our newest @paditv OWSI Instructor at our @underwater_sports Seattle location. She was a part of Course Director @megalotro (Tro’s) inaugural IDC class and says that “Tro’s guidance and mentoring was a huge part of my success in the IDC and IE!”

Atina started diving in 2008 as a warm water vacation diver. But really started racking up the numbers when she lived in Taiwan for 4 years. She’s been lucky enough to travel and dive to bucket list dive destinations like The Maldives, The Great Barrier Reef, Palau, The Galapagas, The Philippines, Bali and many more. But when she moved to Seattle she learned a whole different style of diving and has fallen in love with “refreshing” water diving. When she isn’t diving in the Salish Sea she is planning her next dive holiday.

Like all dive professionals, Atina loves the underwater world and wants to share her passion with others. But as a woman of color, she really wants to encourage other under represented groups to join and advance in the sport of scuba diving. “The oceans should be for everyone to love and enjoy. And if we get more people from all backgrounds to care, we can keep our oceans healthy for everyone.”

We can’t wait for Atina to start sharing her passion of diving with new students.

What an experience! The 5 instructor candidates at the @paditv Instructor Exam were just wonderful. They all displayed the qualities that instructors should embody: safety minded, enthusiastic, encouraging, passionate, knowledgeable, skilled, etc. I learned from each of them and am so thankful to have been a part of this group. Congratulations to all the new PASI OWSI Instructors. #padi #scuba #scubadiving #ie

Join us in congratulating @first_stratum (Max) on being our newest @paditv OWSI Instructor. He excelled in the IDC and rocked the IE and was supported and mentored by our very own newly minted Course Director @megalotro Tro!

Max has been diving for about 7 years and has about 500 dives under his proverbial belt. His favorite local dive site in the PNW is Sekiu and his favorite in the Seattle area is Skyline. He favorite place to dive in the world is right here in our beautiful waters of the Salish Sea.

Max wants to be an instructor because he enjoys watching divers grow through continuing education. And he loves being a part of divers honing and becoming more confident in their skills.

We know Max will be a great instructor at our @underwatersportsbellevue location. When you see him on the beach or in the shop, tell him great job!

So. Farewell then Laptop 7.
You served well for longer than planned and now retire unbowed, unbent and unbroken (and still ready for emergency backup use.)
Adorned with stickers from lots of my favourite people and things, the saddest part is that some stickers were one-offs, but there's always fun in starting with a blank canvas. (As seen in front, all shiny and new and aluminium-y and, apparently, 552% more powerful than its predecessor.)
Shoutout to the companies and creatives that have travelled with me over the past few years!
