@meganann and @_katieroth_ are the sisters behind Muracha, the matcha brand born from a shared belief that an everyday ritual can be both beautiful and deeply intentional.

For Megan, the idea began during a season of reinvention. After selling her digital marketing agency and becoming a mother, she found herself drawn to the quiet moments in her day — and to matcha as a reason to pause. What started as a daily ritual quickly became a fascination with sourcing, quality, and the nuances that distinguish truly exceptional matcha. When she brought the idea of creating something different to Katie, a fellow matcha devotee, the answer was an immediate yes.

The sisters traveled to Japan, spent countless hours tasting and sourcing, and ultimately launched Muracha in summer 2026 with Yame No. 89, their first-harvest, shade-grown matcha. From the objects that elevate their everyday rituals and the beauty essentials they swear by to the things that help them unwind, sleep better, and that they reach for again and again. We give you Megan & Katie’s Top Ten. 🤍

@meganann sold her digital marketing agency, became a mom, and made matcha her daily ritual. The more she learned, the more the category bothered her: everyone claimed "ceremonial grade," an unregulated label, while almost no one would tell you the farm, the cultivar, or the harvest.

So, she and her sister Katie went to Japan to source it themselves. After weeks in the tea fields of yame and the milling houses of uji, they found a family farm led by a woman who started picking these leaves at 19 and, at 89, still oversees every harvest. Their first release, yame no. 89, is a first-harvest, single-cultivar matcha named for her.

Muracha launched direct-to-consumer in June, built on the transparency the category skips: origin, cultivar, harvest, and farming practice. It's already poured at Ford Fry's Little Sparrow and The Chastain in Atlanta, and Culture Club in Nashville.
