breaking the stigma that bodybuilders only eat dry chicken and rice

I have been craving this salad lately! So simple but good!
🥗 Organic spring mix, cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs
🐓 Free-range, pasture raised chicken
🫒 Balsamic vinegar, organic olive oil, and herbs

Maybe a salad sounds boring - I’m just sharing what I’m actually eating, but the micro nutrients here are exciting if you ask me 😌 maybe it’s just bc I’m a nerdy functional practitioner haha

But here are some things we can agree on if you want to get THE MOST ENERGY and bang for your buck out of your food.

At the simplest level - FOOD IS ENERGY - that’s it. It’s not a treat or reward. It’s energy. Calories are a measure of energy.

ORGANIC MATTERS: Pesticides wreak havoc on our hormones, gut, and long-term health.

PASTURE RAISED MATTERS: You are what you eat… and what it eats. Chickens raised on real food in real environments produce higher-quality meat with more omega-3s, selenium, and vitamin B12.

Olive oil + balsamic vinegar actually helps break down the plant cell walls so you can absorb more of the nutrients.

Food is medicine 🌿 and the more you simplify it and exercise your skill set in other areas the easier your health will become and the more your quality of life and impact will increase (:

Are you spiritually strong?
Your body is a temple - take care of it.

Are you financially strong?
Treat your calories, macros and micros like your bank account and investments (: don’t overdraft or play too much risk if you’re older and have less time to recover

Prep isnt a punishment. Ifs a celebration and absolutely should be about NOURISHING your body strategically. Not starving it.

it should be HEALTHY

And im on a mission to put the WELLNESS back in bodybuilding (in so many more ways than one 💪🏼😎)

Follow @meghanmencer and @hopeprotocols for more functional health and fitness - extra fitness for the next 5 months haha

I wanna win that @ocbcleveland sword!! 🗡️

@meghanmencer knows how to make the most out of a day @theoldroadfarm 😌

“We woke up to a gentle rain, soft mist, and the sound of roosters in the distance🐔 Morning routines hit different on the farm. It was like time stood still ✨

After breakfast (the BEST eggs!) we headed to the barn to help! Milking, bottle feeding the baby cows and lamb on the farm! Saying hi to the baby ducks, chicks 🐣 kittens!! All the babies! It’s like heaven on earth!

We made our rounds to see the piggies 🐷 and explored the property to get all the photos!

The rain provided the perfect opportunity to cozy up by the fireplace after lunch and watch a movie and nap 🙌🏼 when we woke up the sun was SHINING ☀️

So we trekked up to the top of the hill where they have a TENTRR for open air camping ⛺️ We enjoyed the most amazing sunset and relaxed with everyone by bonfire 🔥

Start planning your trip for the next workday to immerse yourself in the daily operations of their regenerative farm and stay to unwind, recharge, and learn more about sustainable farming practices.”

Introducing @avantiretreats !!!

GROWTH is a journey, but you can still harness your potential in paradise 😎🌴

Retreats will be centered around nourishing your nervous system. But the curriculum will shift focus depending on theme.

For our ADVENTURE retreat in BALI 🤩 we will be focusing on choosing faith over fear, getting out of your own way, and unlocking your potential by getting to the root of limiting beliefs.

We will have routines in place to help you optimize and harness your potential, daily movement, journaling and workshops, nourishing foods, and optional excursions to further challenge you to get outside of your comfort zone and soarrrrr bb🪶

All while being in paradise alongside likeminded individuals 😌🙏🏼

Modo in Avanti ~ this is the way forward ✨

Come practice yoga with me.
Build strength, grow in flexibility and mobility, learn how to balance… and find community. A safe place to be who you are. A place to love and be loved. A place to breathe, rest when you need too, listen to your body, and find what feels good. I’m here to guide you, but yoga is for YOU. A true form of self care.

When, where, and what do I teach? Glad you asked.

I first heard this song on the Mahogany Sessions as a harmony. It was so chillingly beautiful, I learned the cords the same day.

The song is often thought of as a ballad about unrequited love, but the original artist, Chris Isaak, has said that the song was actually inspired by a call from a woman seeking to arrange a casual sexual affair, and is about "what happens when you have a strong attraction to people that aren't necessarily good for you".

Something I don’t think we recognize enough in our culture is how often we use relationships as a means to an end. I don’t think our culture even points to a purpose in relationships anymore, the importance of love (real love not physical gratification).

Our culture has become about our selfish desires of what “feels good”. And doesn’t talk a bit about the consequences.

Even people of faith in pursuit of Gods will, pure love, and intentional relationships.
How many of us can say we understand what that is, how to live in pursuit of a Christ like love, how to keep romantic love Christ centered, or where to find guidance on any of the above?

I think a lot of us resonate with this song because we have all felt the burn of desire, and the ashes of emptiness it leaves should we play with fire.

So something I’m focusing on is “how to be His”. (By that I mean God’s). I believe a healthy relationship with Christ is the only way we will learn and be able to establish healthy relationships with others: both romantic and platonic.

John 17 says we are a gift to Christ - his bride.

1 Thessalonians 5:20
Educates on what Gods Will is, and how to conduct ourselves.

Ephesians 5
love and respect and the call of men and women in relationships. Listen to the @loverespectinc podcast

1 Corinthians
7:9 talks specifically on this subject.
“It is better to marry than to burn with desire”

All the instruction we need we have access too. My hope and prayer for our culture is that we can get to the root of our heart problems. And stop pursuing things that aren’t good for us, be that unhealthy foods, vices, drugs, behaviors, or relationships.

We were made for more.

Keep shining fam ✨

A 𝕝𝕖𝕠𝕡𝕒𝕣𝕕 doesn't change his spots just because you bring him in from the jungle and try to housebreak him and turn him into a pet. He may learn to sheathe his claws in order to beg a few scraps off the dinner table, and you may teach him to be a beast of burden, but it doesn't pay to forget that he'll al ways be what he was born: a 𝕎𝕀𝕃𝔻 𝕒𝕟𝕚𝕞𝕒𝕝. #georgelincolnrockwell
