This past weekend, we attended a Night of Glitz, Glamour & Giving for Birthday Wishes - an organization that makes a difference in the lives of homeless children and their families by bringing them the joy of a birthday party. Thank you to @nehakprasad and Ravi for organizing such an amazing event and for supporting this organization since 2008. It was a beautiful night – with perfect ambiance, live music, live food counter and a community of just wonderful people My sincere gratitude to @anykasings for helping me dress up for this event – hair, make up and Saree draping – none of it could’ve been possible without her. Too many people to tag in this video but I’m going to try and do the best I can! #Bollywood #Charity #Giving #BirthdayWishes #losangeles

i missed Diwali so much when I left India more than 20 years ago…

Diwali meant there was no school for 2 weeks!!! our house looked so pretty with all the lights & candles, family came together, gifts were exchanged, sweet and savory treats were cooked and served in abundance…

my dad was a pro with all the fireworks and we had so many aunties & cousins visit over those weeks…

this Diwali was so special! so grateful to share a small glimpse of our culture & traditions with family and friends who are now like family here in LA…

And you can dance...for inspiration. Madonna's acceptance speech for Woman of the Year at the Billboard Music Awards was of the most inspiring things this artist has ever said. The cultural rockstar shared important words about the challenges of being a woman that is both timely and timeless. #getintothegroove #madonna #danceliveshere #billboardawards #women #quotestoliveby #wordstoliveby #dancesteps #babysteps #neverstopdreaming #workhard #destiny #designyourfuture #qotd #wisdom #wisewords #achieveyourdreams #playhard #workhardplayhard #quotesporn #rulestoliveby #quotestoliveby #quotesofinstagram #dreaming #dreamy #sayings #entrepreneur #entrepreneurship

Last week... My super cute little niece was terrified by my costume last year so she got to pick this year. For most of the month it was Princess Rainbow Fairy or Boots (from Dora). Thank goodness she was Minnie Mouse and was okay with my 5 minute homemade costume of Mickey Mouse!!
