INTRODUCING OUR ACTORS:

Megi Kaca is an actor, devisor, playwright, producer, singer and a graduate of York-U Theatre. She is inspired every day about the duality of life and has a mission to create theatre that encourages people to question the opposite of the circumstances they encounter. She’s honoured to be a part of Night Light Collectives second consecutive Toronto Fringe show. Her other works include script coordinating and prop designing “The Trying Times of Sister Bunny” (2021), acting and devising “Elemental” (2021) and she enjoyed assistant directing “HAGS” (2020). Megi is very excited that the world of in-person theatre is introducing itself in this world. Communities need the theatre like theatre needs its community.

missing everyone who made my first year at york everything I could have asked for and more 💗 (sorry I couldn’t tag everyone!)

💙My Favorite Year💗 We gave our final performance last week without knowing it was our last. Although we lost the chance to perform this incredible show 4 more times, we worked tirelessly for months to give the audience 8 amazing performances that we are all so proud of. At the start of the year I auditioned for a show that I had never heard of and it now one of my favourite musical theatre experiences. The cast and crew are so incredibly talented and were able to create a beautiful piece of theatre that had the audience laughing, crying and cheering the story along. This has also been one of my most rewarding rehearsal processes, going from knowing only a handful of people, to knowing these people so well and looking forward to every rehearsal and show just to be in their company. I have never laughed so hard and been so genuinely comfortable and myself around a group of people. I will always remember our insane Q2Q of act 2 that had the cast and crew working with one brain cell, everyone perfecting their 50s hair and makeup, the costumes, painting the stage, the backstage mishaps and jokes, our crazy cast decision to try and make each other break onstage one night, our backstage Manhattan choreo and countless more memories. But most importantly I have to thank the cast who supported each other through every rehearsal and show, and I love you all so so much and can’t wait to work with you all again sometime soon! Words cannot fully express “how full my heart” is right now. Though My Favorite Year has come to an early and unexpected close, it does not change the fact that this has been one of the best shows I’ve ever gotten to work on. Never have I gotten to work with such talented human beings. The amount of joy you have all brought me is immeasurable and I cannot thank you enough for that.
And bless you all for allowing me to be the ultimate stage mom, it’s been an honour❤️ P.S.
I’m warning y’all now, this is one of two posts.

It would have to be one hell of a year for some other year to ever come near My Favorite Year! Most of you know I have been promoting the heck out of this phenomenal show and unfortunately we had to cancel our last four performances because of the ongoing situation with covid-19. It sucks but I am thankful everyday for what theatre have given me as an individual, no matter how hard things may get. I thought I would share some of the production photos I took of this amazing cast because I’m so glad I got to be a part of it.

I’m about to be real sappy on main here but today was dress rehearsal and I could not have done this without the lovely humans (ghosts?) involved in this show!
