Living with an autoimmune disease can really affect your overall mental health. The chronic pain, exhaustion, flare ups, uncertainty… it can wear on you in ways people don’t always see.

One thing I’m learning through this journey is how important it is to find things that bring you joy and help offset some of the challenges that come with living in pain. Things that regulate your nervous system, pull you out of survival mode for a little while, and reconnect you back to yourself.

For me it’s been singing! And I got to have voice lessons with my aunt @megparrish who I have always looked up to and admired with her incredible voice and abilities with singing.

Singing, laughing, learning something new, and giving myself permission to do something simply because it makes me happy.

If you’re navigating chronic illness right now, this is your reminder that taking care of yourself isn’t only about medications, appointments, or supplements. Your mental health matters too. Finding moments of joy matters too. 🤍

Meet Bruce & Merrillyn. Their love story is unique & incredibly special. We recently had the opportunity to not only photograph this wedding, but be a part of it as Suz ( @suzy_dover ) set these two up!

Both Bruce & Merrillyn were previously married for 50+ years each and lost both of their spouses. Bruce was looking for a companion/friend & asked Suz if she knew of anyone… she thought her mother-in-law would be the perfect fit (que Merrillyn)! And it looks like the rest is history.🤍
