Department Chair Andrew Dunn, Assistant Professor Stokes Piercy, and Master Lecturer Meg Piercy were honored to attend the @etsu Celebration of Research last night. Thanks to Dr. Nick Hagemeier and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research for hosting a wonderful event recognizing outstanding research and its impacts in the region and beyond. We enjoyed hearing from speakers Dr. Hagemeier, @etsuprovost Dr. McCorkle and Associate Provost for Engagement (emeritus) at Purdue University Dr. Steve Abel. Our own Stokes Piercy was nominated for the ETSU Creative Arts and Humanities Scholar Award for his impressive research productivity and recognitions. In his five years with us, Piercy has produced two short films and two brand films, written two full-length screenplays, and been awarded grants. His works have been accepted into academic conferences, screened at 30 peer-reviewed festivals in 6 countries, and garnered 16 nominations and awards. He is also a champion for community engagement through his Brand Storytelling course. We’re proud to have faculty like Stokes Piercy on our team! Congratulations to all winners and nominees!
