Written & Directed by God (2025) is a Malayalam fantasy drama starring Saiju Kurup as a struggling filmmaker who meets God (Sunny Wayne). Critically, the film is viewed as a preachy, simplistic, and overly sentimental fable with a 1.5–2/5 rating, though some users find it a heartwarming, feel-good family watch.
Too Preachy: Critics found the film preaches virtue and selflessness rather than engaging the audience.
The story follows a predictable path, often described as a flawed, less compelling version of Bruce Almighty or Pranchiyettan & the Saint.
Clumsy Storytelling: Reviews note that the, "old-fashioned direction" and "overbearing tendency to spell out every emotion" made the film tedious. While Saiju Kurup is energetic, Sunny Wayne's portrayal of God is seen as too casual. The music by Shaan Rahman was praised as a bright spot, though poorly placed.
Feel-Good Factor: Some audience members appreciated the film's positive, lighthearted nature.
Inspiring Message: Many enjoyed the uplifting message, noting it is a rare, clean family movie that makes you laugh and think.
"Underrated" Potential: Several viewers described it as a charming, if slightly flawed, watch...
