Please welcome sisters Jie and Mei of @MeiPieStudio , bringing whimsical watercolors and punny food-centric art 🎨

Mei Pie Studio is a name that celebrates their sisterly bond: in Chinese, Jie Jie means older sister and Mei Mei means younger sister. The studio began during the of the pandemic, when Mei started watercoloring whimsical fruit characters and clever puns as a way to find joy. When she shared them with Jie, they knew these characters belonged out in the world. Based in Chicago and printed locally in Ballard, WA, Mei Pie cards delight in the everyday. Their goal is simple: to give people a giggle through cards, mini notes, stickers and gift-able stationery.

Hey everyone! 👋 We’re keeping up our little tradition of introducing you to the amazing vendors and makers we share market space with.

This time we want you to meet @meipiestudio — they make the most incredible cards and stickers, and honestly, the story behind them is what makes it even more special. One sister creates all the artwork, and the other brings it to the market and sells it. They’re fairly new to the scene, so we’d love to help get their name out there. 🩷

Come out, show some love, and support local! 🛒✨

At The Not Empty Box, we don’t just show up to sell our lamps — we’re here for the whole community. That means shining a light on the talented makers and markets all across Seattle. 🌟

See you at the market!

Please welcome Stephanie and Audrey, the sisters behind @Meipiestudio , creating witty, whimsical, wrathful watercolor greeting cards 🙊⠀
⠀
Mei Pie Studio started when Audrey painted a series of food based puns and visual jokes during the pandemic that sent Stephanie into a straight 5 minute chuckle! The sisters knew they were onto a clever way to spread joy and whimsy to others. Their charming watercolor style and silly puns are sure to put a smile on anyone's face!⠀
⠀

ECTC is bringing MEGA MAHJONG TO THE BOXING RING ON MAY 16th 3-7pm!!!! 🥊🀄️🗣️🔥🤩

Emerald City Tile Club has come together with @seattleboxinggym and @kimchi.craft.collective to transform mahjong into something both active and social 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💨. The event is exactly what the name (and poster) indicates - mahjong played with gigantic mahjong tiles in a boxing ring!!

Since this version of mahjong will be quite active, each "player" will have multiple people on one team. Please check-in with the ECTC table to sign your team up, join the queue, and learn the rules for mega mahjong play. Your team will play at the earliest availability on a first come first serve basis! We will also have regular size mahjong tables people can play at while they wait 😁.

When/if the line for mega mahjong gets long, we'll have losers rotate out and winners stay for one additional game at max. THE MEGA MAHJONG IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS, so brush up before you come if you're interested 😁. WINNERS GET TO POSE FOR PICTURES WITH A CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING BELT, SO BE READY 🤩💪🏼

We will also have a STACKED vendor line up to pair alongside mega mahjong, see all featured vendors on the second slide!! EAT, SHOP, PLAY MAHJONG!!

We're honored to host this event as a part of the AANHPI Mini Market organized by @kimchi.craft.collective and we cannot wait to see everyone on May 16!!! Admission to the Mini Market and Mega Mahjong is $5 suggested donation at the door, and all proceeds go to the fighters of @seattleboxinggym

Credit to the fire art of our poster goes to @softvelvetboy

DJ's for the event day of: @balik2bayan 🙂‍↕️
