In 2015, I envisioned celebrating women who are Tastemakers in my eyes. These are the female leaders who influence what becomes a trend and dominates their respective industries! Women I personally admire. Dope women doing dope things! I wanted to honor them in a manner that was inspiring to all who attended and that mission was accomplished; year after year with an annual BrowsbyLaLaPresents Tastemakers Brunch.

As I look back in amazement, I recall that I literally planned and executed the entire event by myself. Don’t tell me what can’t be done!!! I curated that experience during a challenging time in my life. As a result, I gained some incredible long-term friends, business partners, and supporters. I feel overjoyed and emotional just thinking about it! I have donated 10% of all ticket sales to five organizations that are dear to my heart: 1. Bates Foundation 2. FITC 3. Dress for Success 4. TrueStar Magazine 5. I am a Gentleman Inc.

I’m purely in awe reflecting on these “moments for life”. It’s an accomplishment I’m tremendously proud of! VOYAGE CHICAGO featured me in the online magazine last year and I was psyched to tell my story. You can check it out for yourself right here: https://bit.ly/2JvIgxu

This time of the year for the last 5 years, I had the pleasure of celebrating Tastemakers.
This year, I became exposed to the Tastemaker in me and I learned that following:

I am influential.

I set trends.

I trailblaze.

All of this time, I was looking in the mirror and I hadn’t “fully” noticed it.

Reflecting upon these moments reignites me and reminds me of my heart, my intentions and what gives me ultimate fulfillment. I absolutely love to celebrate others! It’s far more enjoyable, when you celebrate yourself simultaneously. I invite you to celebrate your breakthroughs and previous achievements. I also want to encourage you to look forward to your future successes, because I know that I am just warming up.

There’s a Tastemaker in you!
You just have to see it for yourself.
