We had the special privilege of working with Two-Spirit Anishinaabe-Ojibwe artist and designer Morgan Kagesheongai (@waskwane_designs).

Students from @sunnybrook_school learned about the teachings of animals and their cultural significance, collaborating directly with Morgan to design, paint, and create these stunning schoolhouse signs for the outdoor fence. We are beyond grateful for Morgan's knowledge, expertise, and guidance throughout this project.

Miigwech, we can't wait to see these installed! #communityart

Reshared from• @elizabethfrytoronto ☀️It was so great to bring our EFry Toronto team together from across our various offices for a day of fun, sun and community.🐝

The day started off with a collaborative artist-led activity with @studioarts_to We are so excited to display these 3 collaborative pieces in our offices as a reminder of the time together and the community we are building 🧡

And of course the day wouldn't be complete without some competitive games, a beach scavenger hunt, great food and lots of laughter.

The opportunity to connect with our team, get creative together and enjoy eachother's company was a summer day well spent!

Biggest shout out to our wonderful facilitator @kathrynboydfinearts 🎨

Today, I had the honour of facilitating community art activations with the incredible team at Elizabeth Fry Toronto. @elizabethfrytoronto

It was inspiring to be surrounded by people doing such meaningful work in our community. I left feeling deeply inspired by the work Elizabeth Fry does to support women and non-binary people impacted by or at risk of entering the criminal justice system.

Thank you, Melanie Billark, for the opportunity and for trusting me with your vision. 💛 @melanie.billark

I’m grateful to have been part of this day and hope it’s the beginning of more opportunities to create together.

🥰 Thank you @melanie.billark @studioarts_to for inviting me to be part of her artful summer camp! Such talented young people with creative ideas! We had so much fun creating these ceramic mini pinch pot vase. They get to experience the whole process from forming with clay to glazing their own designs.

We had such a great morning taking the highschool art students from @keystone_toronto to the @gardinermuseum for a clay workshop and museum tour with @melanie.billark , big thanks to our Clay instructor Rachel!

The students learned all about pottery, porcelain and ceramic work dating back to the 1600s to contemporary artwork from all around the world and made by a variety of diverse cultures. They also had the opportunity to create a self identity project in the pottery studio, which tied into a lot of themes we explored this term in class!

Can't wait to pick up their work and finish painting them in our art studio just in time to take home for summer break and add them to their end of term art portfolios!

Right before @melanie.billark left for her artist residency last month, she was busy working on something big!

She has officially received her teaching certificate for The International Baccalaureate (IB) in Visual Arts! Offering the diploma program (IBVADP) @keystone_toronto starting in September!! She is thrilled to be able to create her own curriculum, and help foster these creative young minds through inclusive and diverse critical creative thinking and making!

If you're curious about @iborganization here's is a bit of info below:

The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous two-year pre-university framework that challenges students to think critically and connect their learning across diverse subjects. It emphasizes global citizenship and personal growth through a balanced mix of academic inquiry, independent research, and community engagement.

The IB Visual Arts course is a studio-based, inquiry-driven program where students explore their personal and cultural identities through creative expression. It is designed to be accessible to all students, regardless of prior technical background, by prioritizing the development of a unique visual language over traditional technical.

We are excited to share this journey along side her regular art education classes and creative workshops!

Thank you so much to @keystone_toronto for this exciting opportunity!!

I don’t think I’ll ever get over the magic of being surrounded by artists and creating couture in the motherland of France. And I think that’s the point of the experience! 🇫🇷🧵🪡❤️
