Sizing has got to be the hardest part of learning to sew. You have your measurements, garment measurements, and the fabric measurements? Good grief, am I right?

Pattern: @melanie_patterns
Fabric: discount silk linen from @fabrictopia.satx

Some new patterns, some familiar to me:
1. The sailaway dress from @les.perlines I’ll be making in a cotton stripe fabric. Loving the western vibe.
2. The Falconer trouser from @helens__closet - excited to try some new techniques with this pattern. Very into the shiny taffeta.
3. The mini dress from @melanie_patterns I’ve made at least three variations of this dress already.
4. The #soligdress from @paradisepatterns is fun to make, practical when wearing and I think a little cap sleeve will be a sweet touch. Great pattern for beginners.
5. The #josephinetop from @milaonnipatterns is perfect for some vintage fabric I’ve been hoarding. Excited to give this one a try!

My first dress and already such a challenge 🙈 It all seems simple, but I stuck and I can’t get to making any adjustments. I’m afraid I’ll ruin it 😵‍💫

Please give me some advice on how to fix this 😭🫶🏼

Life’s been a lot lately, but I managed to squeeze in a little sewing moment yesterday 💆‍♀️🪡

I made the Eli top from @melanie_patterns , skipped the sleeves and finished the armholes with bias binding instead. From cutting to wearing: about 2-3 hours ✂️👚
Ran out of black thread right at the end so I finished with blue… but who’s checking? 😅
Can’t wait to wear this one on repeat ‘til summer ends 🌞✨

Made some cutie lil cotton ‘ōhi’a lehua printed shorts for a friend’s birthday last weekend using the #summershorts pattern by @melanie_patterns

Added a square back pocket that I learned how to do while sewing up the Pomona Pattern because all shorts need pockets.

If I like it, I’ll just make it in another color. This mini summer dress is on repeat.
