Wow… just wow. 🥹

Today marks one week since Craft Is Culture: A Fiber Art Fashion Show, produced and creatively directed by me. This entire planning process was stressful, exciting, fun, lonely, and educational all at once. I’m beyond blessed to have been able to bring an event like this to life, especially knowing I did it on my own.

I never truly envisioned myself curating an entire fashion show. I always thought I needed a certain number of followers, friends, or orders before I was “ready.” But God truly moved mountains for me, and I’m so thankful that my vision was seen, heard, and embraced by so many people.

This event generated over 70,000 views across social media and completely SOLD OUT. 🥹 Not many people get to say they sold out their very first fashion show at 23 years old, and that honestly warms my heart. The amount of love and support shown for my vision is something I’ll never take for granted.

Thank you all so much. 🙏🏾

Yani Boutique isn’t just a business to me. It’s an outlet for self expression, creativity, and authenticity.

My goal has always been to make sure fiber artists are seen and respected within the fashion industry. I don’t want us to be recognized only as knitters or crocheters. I want us to be recognized as designers who deserve to share the same spaces as the biggest names in fashion.

For years, I built my portfolio, created connections, participated in shows, and still felt overlooked. So eventually I said… fuck it. I am the industry. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I hope this inspires anyone who’s afraid to let their creativity shine, afraid to step outside the box, or afraid to do something different.
Never shrink yourself to fit into someone else’s expectations. The things that make you different are often the very things that inspire others.

Special thanks to my models and my model coodinator @shay.meadows_ for hellping me bring this to life. Without you guys this entire event wouldn't even be possible and I'm so appreciative for the models I have, thank you🤍
