"Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads." - Walden (1854) Koala 🐨✨️

🐨 has sharp claws and strong limbs adapted for climbing trees.

🐨 each individual has its own unique nose pattern, much like a fingerprint.

🐨 can sleep or rest for around 18-20 hours a day to conserve energy.

🐨 feeds mainly on eucalyptus leaves, which provide relatively little energy

🐨 despite often being called a koala bear, it is a marsupial, not a bear.

"In Wildness is the preservation of the world." - Henry David Thoreau - Snow Leopard

🐱 - The species is classified as Vulnerable to extinction, facing threats including habitat loss, poaching and conflict with livestock herders.

🐱 - Adults generally live and hunt alone, except during mating or when mothers are raising cubs.

🐱 - Its broad, fur-covered paws help distribute its weight on snow and provide grip on rocky surfaces.

🐱 - Its strong hind legs allow it to leap impressive distances across rugged mountain terrain.

🐱 - Its beautifully patterned fur helps it blend into rocky cliffs, making it incredibly difficult

Perhaps home is not a place, but the little souls we feel safe beside - Ring-tailed Lemurs 🦝✨️

🦝 - They often sit upright facing the sun, spreading their arms to warm themselves after cool mornings

🦝 - Their long tails feature alternating black and white rings, typically 13 bands, and help group members keep track of one another as they travel.

🦝 - Females generally dominate males, including when competing for access to food

🦝 - They live in groups called troops, often containing several males and females. Grooming and close contact help strengthen their social bonds.
