WE GRADUATED

June 18, 2026 — To the Classmate I’ll Always Remember
19
A message to the graduating class of 2026:

I have thought for a while about my graduation day, ever since grade 6 when even the possibility of graduation seemed so far away, when I didn’t even know if this day would happen here or at a completely different school. I thought about my dress, my hair, how I’d walk across the stage, what if I tripped. Stuff like that, the little things in the grand scheme of everything. A dress or pretty photos cannot sum up 7 years at my second home, but perhaps this extremely long caption will be able to lol😭(you don’t have to read it all but it’d be nice hehe).

My classmates, my friends, you all have shaped me in ways you may not be even fully aware of. Whether I have grown up with you for the past (almost) decade, or I just met you a year or a few months ago, I have a piece of all of you with me. All the nights in res where we were so loud we got noise complaints, or we laughed until Sienna or Giselle were in tears because of their INSANELY high cheek bones, we cried together when a show didn’t go exactly how we wanted or we didn’t get a role we anticipated, and everything just felt right when I was with you guys. I am not exaggerating when I say y’all have become like my siblings, my second family, especially those who I’ve known since grades 6-8, (you know who you are) who have seen me in the CRAZIEST eras of my life where I had side bangs and brown hair, not the bright red I have now (that’s unfortunately not natural lol), when we took the most hideous selfies that are now adorable and distant memories. And to the people who came into my life later, don’t worry, I didn’t leave you out, you guys have made some serious impacts on my life as well, just in different ways like helping me find myself as a person, not just as a little kid. I have truly never felt more supported by a group of people than this one. I cherish our memories so much and I am so happy I get to make more with a few of you next year in CLP. And to the people whose journey continues on without me, I wish you the best of luckšŸ’• The world is NOT ready for all of you incredible people about to step into it.

- love, Miley🫶

so yesterday, we graduated.

I’ve been thinking for quite a while, that life is a lot like a train ride. People step on and off at different stops, and although not everyone stays for the entire ride, each person leaves something behind. A memory, or conversation, something that shapes who we become.

To those that I have been lucky enough to cross paths with during these few years, whether it was 4 years or 4 months ago: I cannot thank you enough with words alone. You all know who you are. You’ve influenced me in more ways than you’ll probably ever realize, and taught me so many things that I will carry with me long after high school. Those, I can never forget.

Here’s to the people who made the journey unforgettable, and who knows, we might cross paths again!

dear friends,
some of the most meaningful things are the ones we don’t realize we’re living until they become memories. and tomorrow, we graduate.. šŸ«‚
