Today we’ve had a fabulous day at @lightwatervtp 🎠
Super quiet today due to the impending storms and we got very wet and soggy from about 1:30pm 🙈 despite this we’ve had a cracking day! I bought last minute tickets a few days ago when they were on offer for £13. Previous visits to the park have been a bit naff however they’ve since been taken over by @mellors_group so for the price we thought we’d give it a punt - all I can say is I’m glad they did. Their “fright water valley” event was absolutely FANTASTIC!! Those poor scare actors have been working their arses off today in horrendous conditions providing an amazing guest experience.
We paid extra for the boys to have trick or treat bags where they were able to visit a number of scenes to meet actors and get a treat! They got a Halloween torch, a paint your own mug, a “lego” set, a jigsaw, a neon glow sword, a snap band, some other little toys and sweets - well worth the money!!
There was the chance to knock on doors for a trick or treat where they got more sweets and a free live action maze included which have me as an adult more than a few scares.
Theming was amazing, really impressive and immersive. Overall we’ve had such a good day, rode lots of rides, including their newest spinning coaster, and finished off the day with a character show and fireworks which were brought forwards an hour due to the weather.
Well done @lightwatervtp 👏 can’t wait to visit again next year!!

🎃 FEAR ISLAND
📍 @fantasyislandingoldmells

The event has made many notable changes this year including upgrades to their hub and existing attractions which were all appreciated... Their new HEARTLESS scare maze was something unique and pulled off perfectly!

Will you take on Cirque Snap or will join the gang of clowns that have been lost in time, forgotten like a distant memory and heard only like a faint crackle of the church music! 👀 Make sure to check out Fear Island at @fantasyislandingoldmells and don't forget to watch the full vlog over on YouTube! 😆😆

I didn't know what to post for this week's Trainless Tuesday so I did a random rollercoaster refresh in RCDB.com until I had something I'd ridden and it just so happened to pick Fantasy Mouse at Fantasy Island. Now I don't have photos of that but I do have photos of Snow Drift, so let's give that some love!

Snow Drift is listed as the only currently operating self built ride in the UK as it was built by Mellors Group. It is a standard layout Spinning Wild Mouse but Mr Mellors has done something to ensure that these cars really spin!

We've done a fair few of these over the years by various manufacturers, Reverchon, Zamperla, Fabbri and so on but Snow Drift really kicked it up a notch!

It was bloody good fun when we did it earlier this year before it left Fantasy Island for the fair circuit (it ended up at Goose Fair earlier this month). It did have weird restraints but I suspect that's down to it operating at a park and not on the fair circuit as fairs tend to have less restrictions from what I've seen. It didn't spoil it though. It would be great to see it expanded to have a bit more theming to fit with it but I can see why it doesn't have that with it being intended for travelling!

Have you ridden it, how did it compare to other manufacturers?

🎃 Frightwater Valley
📍 @lightwatervtp

A family Halloween event takes over the theme park with theming, movie characters, shows and even spooky scare attractions... We were impressed with the effort put in, and they seem to have nailed the family fun event they have advertised, at a great value!

A hand painted carousel horse feature wall, created for the office of Nottingham’s and the UK’s greatest showmen, The Mellors. Accompanied by a fitting sign written quote from P.T. Barnum:

“The noblest art is that of making others happy.” Large-scale, hand-painted monochrome carousel horse mural by Urban Canvas, created for The Mellors in Nottingham, UK. The detailed greyscale wall art depicts a traditional fairground horse with ornate decorative harnesses and raised front legs. This bespoke interior mural transforms an office stairwell into a striking feature wall, celebrating Nottingham’s fairground heritage and traditional carousel artwork.

Hard day at the grind… sampling our Loaded Hot Chocolates. Tough job, but someone had to do it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Just in time for Frightwater Valley starting this Saturday! 🎃👻

If you’re heading to Lightwater Valley this month, you really ought to pop in and try one…🤎

I am very happy to announce that I will be attending the @fantasyislandingoldmells Fear Island Press Event!! I am super excited to visit, as the event has some of my favourite scare mazes I have ever experienced, with the likes of Snap and The Ravenous. In addition, the park recently recieved a UK Theme Park Award for best scare attraction at a theme park which was very very well deserved! Bring on Fear Island 😎

There's no better feeling that riding a good-old log flume during summer!! Whether your the one getting soaked, or the one hiding behind them, it's always a classic when visiting a theme park 😆 This one at Fantasy Island is definitely a classic and intertwines perfect with Rhombus Express!!

When you get a knock at the door at The Phantom has shipped a heart 🫀 in a box along with an invitation to this year's Fear Island event at @fantasyislandingoldmells 👀

I absolutely LOVE little gestures like this! You can really tell how much thought and effort has gone into creating it with the squishy, blood drenched heart in the bag and the accompanying blood bag really helping set the tone for this year's spooktacular sounding new maze Heartless 😍🙏🏻

Fantasy Island and @mellors_group always manage to excel in everything they do, and Fear Island is certainly no different!

Thank you so much Fantasy Island, see you on October 16th!! 😈
