The best part of mermaiding isn’t just the underwater adventures, but also the people we meet along the way.

✨ @meltedwaterpark ✨

It was such a pleasure to finally meet you in person and learn from you. Your talent, big heart, and willingness to share your knowledge are truly inspiring.

Thank you for this wonderful meeting! I’m leaving with fresh inspiration and even more motivation to keep learning ❤️

Mermaid-like beings appeared in folklore thousands of years ago. One early example is Atargatis, a Syrian goddess associated with fish and later mermaid-like imagery.
Ancient Greece: Sirens were mythical beings who lured sailors with their songs. They were originally depicted as bird-women, not mermaids.
Medieval era: Stories of mermaids spread through European maritime folklore, symbolising mystery, beauty, danger and the unknown ocean.
1837: Hans Christian Andersen published The Little Mermaid, helping popularise the romantic mermaid story.
20th century: Films, television and popular culture transformed mermaids into beloved fantasy characters.
Modern day: Mermaiding has evolved into a real aquatic art and sport, combining swimming, freediving, underwater performance, photography and ocean storytelling.
Today, mermaids also represent ocean connection, creativity, freedom and conservation, bringing mythology into modern underwater art and ocean experiences.

The dive tribe is coming together. 🌊🤿

Tomorrow, the adventure begins.
From 17–24 October, ADEX Dive & Vibe – Bluewave Edition takes over the Maldives for 8 days and 7 nights of diving, connection, unforgettable encounters and plenty of good vibes aboard Maldives Legend.

Some faces are new. Some are returning. But for the next week, we’re all part of one dive tribe. 💙

From mantas, sharks, reefs, blue water, new friendships and the kind of moments that stay with you long after you’re back on land.

ADEX Dive & Vibe 2026 starts TOMORROW. 🌊✨
See you beneath the surface.

People. Ocean. Extraordinary experiences.
