I am ridiculously thrilled to make my first artist announcement for the upcoming United We Art Cabaret.
(tix at: https://tinyurl.com/4dynawbx)
This sensational, passionate performer blows my mind with her talent, dedication, artistry and incredible stage presence each and every time I have the gift of seeing her perform. I cannot WAIT to see her devour the stage on November 30th.
Introducing Flamenco dancer extraordinaire; Anastassiia Alexander!
See her bio below! 👇🏻⬇️
Anastassiia Alexander is a Russian-born, Mexican flamenco dancer trained in Madrid, Spain. A versatile dancer, Anastassiia has performed in productions varying from contemporary to traditional flamenco tablaos in Canada and Mexico, including: Calgary International Flamenco Festival (Calgary), Victoria Flamenco Festival (Victoria), Fluid Festival (Calgary), Ibérica Contemporánea (Queretaro), Encuentro Internacional Al Andalus en Mexico (Mexico city), and numerous traditional tablaos in Mexico city and flamenco performances in Calgary, Canada. In September of 2020, Anastassiia was an artist-in-residence at the Good Women Dance Collective (Edmonton). Recently, she was invited to present a solo show The Machinations of Memories Suppressed at the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival 2022. After moving back to Calgary in March 2023, Anastassiia has been actively engaged in performances with HYMMMelodies world music band and her own monthly shows at the Romero Distilling Co. Together with dancer Judith Romero, Anastassiia is a co-founder of Grado 108 Flamenco Fine Arts, a new flamenco studio in Calgary, that will open its doors next spring.

What an honour to be invited by our Poet Laureate, the sensei himself, @wakefield_brewster 🧡 Thank you to @jlovenotes and the @jubilee_ab for giving poetry space in such an awesome series. 🌟🌟WHAT AN AMAZING OPENING NIGHT LASTNIGHT🌟🌟

Some actual photos are coming, but we couldn’t wait- thanks @ashley_emilda for this shot of our program.

What we are hearing from audience members who took in the show:

🪐This is truly something they haven’t seen before

🪐Inspiring
🪐Amazing and Exciting

🌟Tonight is your LAST CHANCE to see this and there are still some tickets available!! We will have some at the door but can’t guarantee your seat selection, so head to the link in our bio to grab yours if you haven’t already!

This IS NOT your typical burlesque experience…we’ve brought you something new… brought in one of a kind tech artists from accross the country to collaborate with. AND, despite the large scale production, we’ve kept tickets low cost and on a sliding scale. You won’t see another show like this, so don’t miss your chance.

Thanks all who attended last night!! We look forward to taking the stage one more time tonight!! See you there😉.
