👁️✨🌊✨👁️ ‘Waters: Dreaming Eye to Eye’ Printed fabric, pvc, water, land May 16, 2026 Collab project with Beatriz Amelia @beatrizzzamelia Curated by @c0penger at Common Good Co-op in Dorchester, MA Waters: Dreaming Eye to Eye is a collaborative project between artists Beatriz Amelia and Lani Asunción that comes together as a collective reflection of shared colonial pasts amongst their Taíno and Filipinx diasporas related to 1898, when the U.S. acquired both the Philippines and Puerto Rico from Spain via the Treaty of Paris, shifting them from Spanish to American colonial rule. Across the ocean, both archipelagos were positioned as a strategic U.S. military foothold in the Caribbean and Pacific, used as sites for outsider profits and political gain. Island bookends, with water between them, shores shaped by the same forces and collective struggles for liberation. “Loved 💛 working on this summer project with @beatrizzzamelia helping to transform her powerful paintings 🎨 into a fabric sculpture we installed at The Common Good Co-op working with Kafi Dixon and the amazing @c0penger team. We got the chance to collab to combine our cultural identity work and be a part of a beautiful community project.” 🌱✨💖 📸 by @an.ha.n & @c0penger

1-2. Maggie Wong The Efforts of Reproducing Nature and Nurture fabric, wood, print, magnets A refrigerator door printed on sheer fabric stands upright in a garden bed, mounted on a frame. Printed on the fabric are fragments of history from The Watsonville Cannery strike, one of the largest strikes in the 1980’s, led by Mexicana and Chicana women, told from the perspective of the League of Revolutionary Struggle and layered with the artist’s personal fragments. Among those fragments posted to the flowing fridge door lives a specific memory from the artist’s childhood: standing at a farmworker strawberry strike for the first time, small and overwhelmed, learning that the sweetest fruit carried the longest shadow. In this work, as in life, care is not separate from labor, whether in food systems, domestic labor, or learning to see and build a more just world. This artwork is an invitation to reflect on how labor, love, and land are reproduced, collectively and individually. 3-5. Robbie Moser-Saito and Emmaline Kenny Organs // Enclosures ceramics, steel Both artists are motivated to show evidence of the human hand in the wake up a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Organs // Enclosures is both a celebration of the human hand, and an invitation to step back and focus one’s attention on the earthen materials that not only shape how we engage with the world, but are the world we engage with. 6. Mikey Sims Pants pants, plastic, fan 7-8. Emily Manning-Mingle garden pillows acrylic, thread on pillow case This set of pillow cases are painted and embroidered to represent the activity and life within the garden bed during the growing season. While pillows typically support a person at rest, these pillow cases visualize the transformation of organic matter into life. The quotes embroidered into the fabric serve as a reminder of our codependence with nature and seek to inspire deeper engagement with the land.

A new Tiger Balm Recording is live! 🐯✨ In this conversation, I had the privilege of interviewing Kim Yasuda @kimyasuda . Kim is a legend at @artdept_ucsb for her ambition and can-do spirit. I spoke against the backdrop of the LA fires and housing crisis in the area and nationwide. Across generations and disciplines, we reflect on what it means to make work that is at once intimate and political: from decolonial inquiry and diasporic memory to public art, pedagogy, and civic engagement. Together, we consider how artists listen, teach, and build with communities—tracing what remains and what can be reimagined. This conversation continues Tiger Balm’s commitment to intergenerational dialogue within the Asian and Pacific Islander diaspora, foregrounding the relationships that sustain our practices. Thank you to the Greg Bae Memorial Fund and our @3artschicago backers for supporting this project 💞 🎧 Tune in at tigertigerbalm.net #TigerBalm #HuongNgo #KimYasuda #AAPIArtists #CommunityArchive @kimyasuda

Join us Thursday, March 12 from 5–7 PM at Boston City Hall for the reception of (IN)VISIBILITY: Belonging in the Margins, featuring work by 16 current and former BCA Studio Residents and curated by former BCA Visiting Curator @marianarrey 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 ‘(in)Visibility: Belonging in the Margins presents artworks that navigate identity, community, and representation from marginal spaces. The artists in this exhibition work from positions often rendered invisible by dominant narratives — whether as immigrants, members of diasporic communities, or individuals whose identities resist easy categorization. Their practices ask: what does belonging mean when the structures that define it were not built equitably? How do we create space for ourselves when we’ve been pushed to the edges?’ Featuring work by: Xray Aims, Beatriz Amelia, Cristobal Cea, Funlola Coker, Julia Csekö, Sabrina Dorsainvil, Feda Eid, Aileen Erickson, Mark Hernandez-Motaghy, Georgina Lewis, Marcel Marcel, Jo Nanajian, Yuko Okabe, Chelsea Silbereis, Maggie Wong, and Ngoc-Tran Vu. 💙
