POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

this is probably my sparkliest side quest yet 🤩

I’ve yet to find the words to convey my heart from this experience and I doubt I’ll justly express it all. The love and support I received has been the biggest blessing of this experience and truly was the magic of it all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In one year, I am still so grateful to look back and see how much I have grown. I cannot wait to see where I will be at in another year, but for now I’ll soak it all in.

I love you all so deeply and I’ll continue make you proud in this next year as Miss Wichita Asian Association 2026 🤍

365 DAYS IN PAGEANTRY: 8 THINGS THE LORD TAUGHT ME

One year ago, I stepped into a world I NEVER imagined being part of! Coming from an athletic background, competing in pageants felt surreal. Over the past 365 days, God used this adventure to show that his character is in every part of life and to teach me lessons I’ll carry for a lifetime!

Swipe through to see the 8 biggest lessons the Lord taught me this year —>

1. THE WORK STARTS BEFORE THE TITLE

Long before I even contemplated pageantry, the real preparation was already happening in private. Pageants gave me a platform to share the discipline I gained as an athlete and my service to my community. I joked multiple times that I’m surprised I hadn’t found pageants earlier, but I think it was perfect because the service I did before a title wasn’t based on chasing a crown—it was simply part of my life.

In 1 Samuel, David didn’t grow up knowing he was going to be the king of Israel. The unseen, hidden work he did in the pastures, protecting his sheep from lions and bears, prepared him to defeat Goliath and step into his calling. What a gift it is to personally know a God who refines and tests our character in private so we can live out His calling on a bigger stage.

2. START SPEAKING LIKE IT’S ALREADY HAPPENED

Something I learned this year is that pageant contestants often try to start or end their answers with, “...as Miss Kansas…” While learning to articulate myself during interviews and on-stage questions, I had to practice this because speaking as though I already held the title felt entirely new. But the more I thought about it, the more I questioned: why do we as Christians sometimes lack the faith to call things into being before they happen? Why is it so easy to proclaim “...as Miss Kansas...” chasing an earthly crown, yet hesitate to declare “...as a child saved by the grace of God…” to proclaim His goodness?

Romans 4:17 says that God “calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” God changed Abram’s name to Abraham (meaning “father of a multitude”) before he even had a single child with Sarah. Every time someone spoke his name, they were speaking his future into existence by f

𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 officially has my heart 🤎

Today was such a special part of this pageant experience! We had the chance to share the cultural trifolds we made and our stories with the judges!

I truly laid my heart out in that interview room…sharing my story, my passions, and the pieces of myself that mean the most to me. Walking out, I felt so confident, fulfilled, and proud knowing that I showed up authentically and said everything I hoped to say.

Private interview has become one of my favorite parts of pageantry, and today reminded me exactly why. Thank you especially to our judges for making the interview so much fun!

So much of the confidence I carried into that room is thanks to Tina, Thao, Deanna, Michelle, Ashley, Tâm, and everyone who has supported, challenged, mentored, and helped me grow into a more confident and authentic communicator 🤎

I cannot wait to see you all on that stage in TWO WEEKS 🤍

Private Interview & Cultural Boards complete! 👑✨

Our Miss Wichita Asian Festival contestants shared their stories, showcased their heritage, and took another big step toward the crown today. We’re so proud of the preparation and heart each contestant brought into the room!

Together, private interview and cultural boards make up 50% of each contestant’s overall score. The remaining 50% will be determined during the onstage competition at the Wichita Asian Festival, evaluated by a separate panel of judges.

A heartfelt thank-you to our private interview judges, Eric Shipman, Tiana Kelly, Beverly Salas, Stephanie Le, and Kiara Whyte, for your time and thoughtful consideration of each contestant.

Next stop: the festival stage! Come cheer on these incredible young women as they finish what they’ve worked so hard for October 17th at the 45th Wichita Asian Festival!👑✨
