Yesterday we celebrated the stars of @echoparkrising, the incredible performers and artists who took to the stage, storefronts, parking lots, and even bus stops(!) to entertain us all this past weekend. Today, we focus on the citizens of echo park rising. The event wouldn’t have been the spectacle that it was if it for the color, energy, and joy its citizens brought to Sunset Boulevard.

From serving sips to serving looks, all the main characters were out. Special shout out to my man in slide 18 who found himself trapped with his luggage in the midst of a mosh pit. Head on a swivel, papito.

i’m still so incredulous and speechless 🥹 it’s been very surreal and heartwarming to celebrate the launch of my book with new and old faces from home and here in the states. again, i am extremely grateful for the love and support everyone has shared. i’ve been writing here and there as a teenager and always kept my art to myself. the moment i started putting out my art, be it online, with friends, or on mics, it began evolving into something that, is no longer just mine, but instead, a shared meal and connection with many people.
i’ve had a difficult and humbling time adjusting to life here but i keep finding more things and people that make it worthwhile. 🧡
