Memphis takes care of Memphis💪🏽 Thousands of our neighbors are still dealing with the impact of this week’s storms and power outages and community organizations across the city are coming together to make sure people have what they need.

TODAY at 5:30 PM, join The Equity Alliance, Willing Souls Church, Rep. Telisa Franklin and community partners for Feed the Block Memphis at Willing Souls Church, 1680 Orr St.

Free resources will be available for families impacted by the outages, including hot meals, water, food pantry supplies, fans and power packs, charging stations, limited shelter resources and more.

If you’ve been impacted, come get what you need. If you know someone who has, share this post and help us get the word out.

HAPPENING TODAY: Feed the Block Memphis

If you or someone you know has been affected by the outages, stop by for free hot meals, water, fans and power packs, charging stations, and limited shelter resources.

- Oakhaven High School | 5–7 PM

This is what community looks like: organizations, local leaders, businesses, and neighbors coming together to meet people where they are and make sure no one has to navigate a crisis alone. Please share this post widely so these resources reach the Memphians who need them most.

Even with the thunderstorm, I had such an amazing speaking event today! 👏🏾💜

The room was filled with such lovely women that all wanted to teach and learn more about women's health.

My topic, of course, was lupus, and how to advocate for themselves in their doctor's appointments. Also had to remind them that there is life after lupus!😉💜

Special thanks to The Beauties and the Books bookclub for inviting me to speak. 💜

It’s #thankfulthursday and Week 2 of THE WARRIOR & THE EXPERT Series with the phenomenal @drsaarahthepsych!

This week in our Lupus & Mental Health series we’re focusing on practices and activities for our MIND BODY & SOUL and SUPPORT that us #lupuswarriors can adopt to help us with our mental health.

I’ve been in therapy for more than a decade and I love listening to music and exercising to relieve stress and anxiety.

These are all holistic ways for us to take care of ourselves to have the best quality of life possible while living with lupus.

Here’s something I want to know, whether you’re a lupus warrior or not. What are some ways you relieve stress? Please share!

May is COMING! Y’all ready?

It’s my birthday month, its #lupusawarenessmonth and it’s #mentalhealthawarenessmonth!

For the first time in a long while I’m excited about creating content for this month. There’s so much pressure on advocates, most self-imposed, to do something.

A lot of times I chose to support others and will still but I’m creating something special and I hope you all enjoy it!

Oh, and if you’re not feeling it and need to take a step back PLEASE do not feel guilty about it. It’s more than OK to prioritize your peace.
