Future Voices King County is a free youth cultural ambassadorship program created through a collaboration between Seattle Persian School and Peyvand, with sponsorship from 4Culture.

This program is offering hands-on opportunities to:

*Connect with your heritage through family and community stories.

*Build confidence and skills in public speaking, interviewing, and media production.

*Create a cultural project to share with the community.

*Build a portfolio of completed work.

*Earn a completion certificate and a letter of recommendation for college and job applications.

Students will have the opportunity to explore their roots, listen to stories that may otherwise go untold, and create something that reflects their own perspective and voice.

By the end of the program, participants will be ready to become young cultural ambassadors—confident in sharing their heritage, celebrating their community, and helping others better understand the stories and traditions that have shaped them.

Your story matters. Your voice matters. Future Voices helps you share both.

Peyvand proudly presented Iran's various traditional costumes at the World Cultures Through Traditional Attire event on September 19th organized by Ye Fine Art. We are grateful to Margie Ye and other cultural partners who shared their cultures with the greater community.
Our deepest gratitude to all the community members who provided the beautiful costumes and accessories, our volunteers who models the attire and help set up the booths and our Youth Empowerment Committee member, Parnian Haeri who created the gorgeous PowerPoint presentation.
This program was funded by City of Bellevue Cross Culture Without Walls Program. Peyvand's participation was made possible by support from the City of Bellevue and 4Culture Free and reduced access grant.

Join us at the film screening of the Ultimate Citizens and the Q & A session with director Francine Strickwerda.

Ultimate Citizens was the opening film at SXSW EDU, and winner of 26 film festival awards.”

"Ultimate Citizens is a celebration of resilience and a vision of a more welcoming America. Developing a sense of belonging—so critical for all Middle School and Junior High children—is spectacularly illustrated as we see children blossom amidst the most difficult circumstances.

The film follows Jamshid Khajavi, a charismatic, fiery and funny Iranian American public school counselor, as he mentors the members of an Ultimate Frisbee team assembled from the immigrant and refugee students arriving at his inner-city school in Seattle, WA."

In June 2026, we had the privilege of presenting an engaging and educational workshop exploring the rich, complex, and fascinating history of tea in India and Iran.

We shared culinary traditions rooted in history, hospitality, and community, while examining how tea was introduced and cultivated in each region and highlighting the lasting influence of colonialism, trade routes, and cultural exchange on the tea traditions that continue today.

The afternoon brought together community members for meaningful conversation, cultural learning, and connection through the shared experience of tea.

Presented by Peyvand, a nonprofit organization producing cultural programs across King County since 2011, this special gathering was made possible through the support of the City of Bellevue Cross-Cultural Center.

The event was held at the PCC Community Market in Bellevue.

I met these friends years ago through organizing for Palestine, they are trusted friends of mine and they need your support more than ever! We always talked about supporting our own people one day and envisioned what international solidarity could look like, and now they are making that vision a reality ✊✊
