It was so lovely to share space with so many inspiring NYC dance teachers on Sept 19th! @ananerydance & @pedroruizjr23 led a workshop inspired by his Essence of Us choreography with @malpasodance in Havana. Dinner, dancing, a screening of @nelshelby ‘s film, and performance by @ballethispanico followed! Beautiful day and grateful for @sullivanlally and @danceedlab ‘s vision.

I packed up my life and moved across the country to pursue a career in higher education while simultaneously finishing my doctorate. I knew I was stepping into something bigger than myself, but I could not have imagined just how transformative the journey would be.
In these four years, I have grown as an artist, scholar, educator, and leader. I became a mother. I navigated the beautiful, exhausting, and the realities of building a career while raising a child. And through it all, I continued to show up, with purpose, passion, and a deep commitment to making an impact through dance and education.
I stand incredibly humbled and deeply honored to receive the Outstanding National Dance Educator Award in Higher Education. 🏆✨
This recognition is not just a celebration of an accomplishment. It is a celebration of the leap. The late nights. The sacrifices. The moments of doubt. The prayers. The perseverance. The village that carried me. And the students who continue to remind me why I chose this path.
To my village: THANK YOU. Thank you for believing in me, standing beside me, and reminding me of who I am when I needed it most.
To my students: thank you for receiving what I have to offer and allowing me to be part of your journey. Your growth, your artistry, your questions, and your willingness to dream bigger continue to fuel my purpose.
Four years ago, I took a leap.
I celebrate how far that leap has carried me.
And I know this is only the beginning. 🤎✨

Esta variación inspirada en ALAS traía a todos los participantes entusiasmados después de ver el espectáculo en la sede de la Compañía(ALAS por dentro) y en el Teatro Nacional(ALAS)

Esta semana, en Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba Escuela, la felicidad tiene nombre: “Papá, baila conmigo”.

Porque si mamá tuvo su momento especial, papá también merece el suyo… ¡que no queremos celos! 😆✨

Y como una imagen vale más que mil palabras, hoy les compartimos varias para que puedan sentir y disfrutar con nosotros toda la alegría, el amor y la complicidad que se viven en este hermoso encuentro.

This was such an amazing experience sharing the stage with my dance friends and even taking class with my best friends. Through this, I also got to connect with a ton of people and they all we so fun and sweet and honestly this is one of my favorite moments so far for 2026. Thank you to @jcarreras221 for an unbelievable and unforgettable peice that I will hold in my heart forever. ❤️❤️❤️

ACDA 2026!!!🥺⭐️ The Rhythm Within✨

Wow! What an unforgettable weekend of performances, classes, and connecting with such inspiring artist and incredible human beings!! It was truly an honor to present my work, representing Rutgers University, at this years American College Dance Association Northeast conference!! @acda_dance @acdanortheast Having my piece selected from 44 works to 12 chosen for the Encore performance meant more than I can ever put into words!!

To my beautiful cast, I truly don’t even have the words to thank you. Not only for being such an incredible group of artists, but for trusting my vision and allowing yourselves to fully step into my process. That kind of trust is everything. This piece holds such a special place in my heart, and it only became what it is because of each of you. Your hard work, your dedication, your openness, and your energy truly poured into the work in ways that inspire me more than you know! Thank you for showing up and believing in me and for making this experience so unforgettable!! 🙏🏼 I can’t wait for the final capstone version!!

To all my professors and my mentor @mendance2 your belief in me, even in moments of frustration and anxiety, has meant more to me than I can truly express. Thank you for allowing me to take up space, to create, to question, to grow, and to refine my voice as an artist.
