As I always say, when professionals collaborate, our clients win. 🙌

Last night was another wonderful opportunity to put that belief into practice at Heart to Heart with Hargrave, an event that brings family law attorneys and couples/family therapists together for connection, relationship building, and learning from one another.

Last night’s topic: “What a Family Judge Wants You to Know.”

The conversation was fascinating, and I think we all walked away with new insight, a few best practices for documentation and note-taking…and perhaps just a little more anxiety about subpoenas than we arrived with. 😉

It was lovely to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new colleagues, and hear perspectives from the other side of the professional table.

Thank you to @jennifershargrave and @hargravefamilylaw for continuing to create a space where therapists and attorneys can learn from one another and build relationships that ultimately help us better support the people and families we serve.

Different roles. Shared purpose. Until next time! 🫶

One week till my favorite group to teach- you still have time to sign up! Attachment based therapy is truly my favorite. I truly believe we can trace back anything and heal anything with self awareness and curiosity of self. While this is focused mostly towards young children, if you are anxious to learn how to connect with your baby in the future this can be helpful or even if your kids are a little older it can help you rebuild and relearn ways to connect. Come ready to reflect on yourself and your past and you will leave with a new view of parenthood!! #dallas #therapy #parenting #counseling #familytherapy

Our founder & CEO John Patton, LCSW and our COO Randy Cox, LCDC were extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to tour D’Anna Klassen, LPC, CSAT-Candidate from @mendcounseling at our program yesterday. Collaboration with clinicians of her caliber is something we value in our all-male, highly structured, age-specific, clinically driven transitional living homes in North Dallas. Productive. Reliable. Put-together.
Cool personality — until it becomes the cage.
Annie Tam, LPC @mendcounseling @anniecatherinetam joins The Dallas Duo this week and she is not here to sugarcoat it. She works with high-achieving women and working moms who are quietly running on fumes while the world claps for their output.
If you’ve ever felt like your worth is tied to your to-do list… this episode is going to feel uncomfortably familiar (in the best way).
We talk about:

→ What high-functioning burnout actually looks like (hint: it’s not a breakdown)

→ Perfectionism + people-pleasing as survival strategies — and how to unlearn them

→ What emotional dysregulation feels like in your body before your brain catches up

→ The one coping mechanism women swear by that’s actually keeping them stuck
Annie is the real deal and this conversation doesn’t let you off the hook. 🙌
💬 Drop DUO in the comments and we’ll send it straight to you!

You look fine. You’re functioning. You’re getting it all done.
And you are exhausted in a way you can’t even explain to yourself.
We sat down with Annie Tam, LPC — @anniecatherinetam @mendcounseling therapist, working mom expert, and owner of Mend Counseling — to talk about the thing nobody warns you about: high-functioning burnout.
It doesn’t look like falling apart. It looks like you.
In this episode we’re getting into:

→ Why the women who “have it together” are often the most depleted

→ The hidden stress patterns keeping you stuck on repeat

→ Emotional regulation tools you can actually use between school pickup and your next Zoom

→ How to set a boundary without the guilt spiral that follows
This one hit different. 🎙️
