Kneeling Side Kicks ✨ I love how Kneeling Side Kicks takes the familiar Side Kick series and adds a whole new challenge. It’s not just about moving the leg, but about maintaining balance and control through the rest of the body while the hip moves freely. With only one knee and one hand supporting you, the Powerhouse, obliques and deep spinal stabilisers have plenty of work to do to keep the torso and pelvis organised. The hip abductors, particularly gluteus medius, gluteus minimus and tensor fasciae latae (TFL), are working on both sides. They help keep the pelvis stable over the supporting knee while controlling the lifted leg as it moves forwards and backwards. The exercise also challenges the connection between the supporting shoulder girdle and the Powerhouse, preparing the body for more demanding lateral support exercises such as Side Bend. #Pilates #ClassicalPilates #Contrology #KneelingSideKicks #jamesshawpilates

Every body is a work of art ❤️, and that’s the beauty of it. “High Bridge” on the Cadillac: my focus is on articulating the spine, one vertebra at a time. Helping my client feel where the movement begins and ends, with flow, control and deep concentration. Working with dancers gives me the freedom to explore everything Pilates has to offer. Thank you, @trevor_schoonraad , for the inspiration! follow his page for more! Bravo @alberto_terribile #nickpilates #mendopilates #pilatesfordancers #contrology #pilatesvienna

Quanto conta sentirsi seguiti durante un allenamento? Per Me, moltissimo. #Pilates #Liberdade #MovimentoConsciente #love #CorpoEmMovimento

Swimming ✨ | Classical Mat Swimming is a brilliant exercise for activating the entire posterior chain, bringing the spinal extensors, glutes and hamstrings together to maintain length and extension through the body. Coming after Teaser and Hip Twist in the classical mat sequence, Swimming provides a wonderful counterbalance, shifting the emphasis towards posterior-chain activation and spinal extension after the predominantly flexion demands of the preceding exercises. The deep spinal stabilisers, including multifidus, work alongside the Powerhouse to maintain stability through the spine and pelvis as the arms and legs move in opposition. The alternating arm and leg movements also challenge the body’s diagonal cross-sling connections, encouraging coordination and force transfer across the trunk while maintaining a strong, organised centre. It’s a great combination of posterior-chain strength, spinal stability and cross-body coordination — all without a single spring in sight! #Pilates #ClassicalPilates #Contrology #Swimming #PilatesMat

When the foot hooks onto the ladder and you find that abdominal scoop it is *chefs kiss*. Not to mention the spinal articulation, the length, the stretch, the opening of the upper body that just feels so good! Handstand mount and dismount to the ladder barrel + Short Box Round. Significa dare valore a ogni sessione. ✨ Vuoi conoscere il nostro modo di lavorare?
